Washington Post: Forget The Confederate Flag, Focus on Gun Control
Breitbart ^ | June 28, 2015 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 06/28/2015 2:01:18 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

On Friday, The Washington Post ran a column asking readers to “look away from the Confederate flag” and look instead at the gun alleged Charleston attacker Dylann Roof held in his hand.

WaPo published a picture of Roof holding a Confederate flag in his left hand and a Glock in his right. The paper then noted that the nation reacted to the Charleston attack by “[debating]…what the old battle flag symbolizes and whether it should be displayed anywhere outside a museum.” They argue that this is misplaced–that the nation should be discussing what new gun controls will be passed.

This same sentiment was expressed by Slate earlier in week, wherein the magazine both praised the attempts to banish the Confederate flag and criticized those attempts as a way side-stepping of the gun control “conversation” Slate wants so bad.

I don’t believe it. They want them both...rather...they want it all.

These people are stupid. The first groups taken out by the dictator after the gun ban, will be the editors at Slate and WAPO.

We have had the gun control “conversation” enough times to know we are facing liars who want to destroy freedom. I am done with conversations involving liberals; talking only gives the enemy better guidance on how to work around our positions. Their goal is total disarmament as a route to total power, and they are willing to win all at once or over the course of generations. Even incremental “common sense” gun restrictions proposals must be resisted in the legislatures and then disobeyed if they are passed. There is no integrity on their side, there is no compromise with those who want to enslave us, and there is no compromise halfway between freedom and slavery.

I thought suppression of the battle flag of Northern Virginia WAS gun control.

The two have been conflated so often, how can it be that people cling to guns if they do not also cling to the banner?

I know, the ownership of hand weaponry is NOT the exclusive province the sons of the Old Confederacy, nor should it be. But surely, the fact that the Southern states could raise an army, or rather a number of militia units, that could and did challenge the Union forces, was fed by the same impulses that led to the adoption of the Second Amendment originally.

Both believers in the adage, Socialism has never been given a fair chance before.

They just can’t quite grasp that it has, and it always winds up the way those times did, because of Socialism’s inherent nature.

Yes, they will be the next publication victims, when Socialism advances to that point here.

And in another hundred years, some other brain-trusts will be claiming Socialism has never been given a fair chance before.

You can’t fix stupid.

Ban historical battle flag, fly rainbow flags, NO CHANCE, take guns away, and lets have illegals flock here while having more people drugged up because the feds don’t enforce their own laws.

No this country is in a frenzy, because of the media, under orders from the white house.

They are going full out knowing they might not get another chance to pas their communist rules from 63 for a few more years.

It angers me, and breaks my heart, that there is no formidable opposition to all this. Rather, we’re told to roll over and better luck next time. My votes and prevailing at the ballot box side did nothing. I would like to believe, if they want “full out,” they better they will get “full out” raging hell in return. But, it would just sound like some empty threat and crazy talk coming from some conservative wingnut on the fringes.

hundred of millions spent, millions cast their vote, and for what?

The homostapo lost and they went off to the activist judges.

Well because these said states have to marry them I would like to see states now stop marring people and you can only marry at a place of worship.

The SCOTUS is supposed to be checked by Congress and yet we have so many cowards, because they know the media will go after them and call them names , when infact it is the hatred, and bigotry being led by the left no matter how many times they shout love and tolerance.

This is really stupid when it’s so easy to compare the Charleston Church where the parishioners were unarmed with the Colorado Church where a female parishioner was armed and prevented a massacre.

I enjoy Mike Vanderboegh's post on the matter:

http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-reset-button.html

"I was having this conversation with a reader the other day in reference to the firearm laws we are breaking in the various states and he asked me what we were going to do about previous infringements, going back to GCA 68 and the NFA of 1934. I told him, when they start the shooting we don't quit until we have pushed the reset button on the last 100 plus years of infringements. They lose it all -- the Federal Reserve, fiat currency, the income tax, all the gun laws, all the nanny state fascism, the murder of innocents on demand, the tortured rendering of the Interstate Commerce clause, the bloated federal bureaucracy, everything. EVERYTHING."

That is why their type are aptly labeled “Useful Idiots”. They’re used and then disposed of.

"...book instead at the gun alleged Charleston attacker Dylann Roof held in his hand."

Wasn't the gun he had in his hand a model that's been around over 100 years?

Forget both. The perpetrators of the recent gun crimes have all been bat$#!t crazy. They needed psychiatric care and everyone surrounding them did nothing to help them other than put them on drugs.
