About Nixon Americans said, "In your heart you know he's right."
Actually he was.
In your heart you know Trump is saying what you have felt all along.
LOL, how thick does someone have to be to compare Reagan, or anyone, being a democrat in the 1930s and 1940s and having Truman in 1948 as his last democrat presidential vote, before campaigning for Eisenhower in 1952, and 1956, and Nixon in 1960, and already earning a reputation as a conservative speaker and thinker in the 1950s, giving a famous conservative speech at Goldwater’s 1964 convention, two terms as republican governor, and giving us the Reagan years, to Donald trump leaving the GOP, to join the democrats in 2001, and being a democrat under Obama, and naming Bill Clinton as his favorite modern president?
Trump wasn’t a democrat in the old days, and WWII, he left the GOP, and became a modern Al Gore, Hillary, Bill, Obama, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy democrat, leaving at age 63, in 2009.
Republicans will continue to lose if they can't tell the difference between political leaders and pop-culture figures/entertainers.
It's harder for the right because we don't have Hollywood.
[ Reagan was also once a democrat. He switched to Republican in 1962 .
A quote in which Reagan complained, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The party left me.’’ ]
One of the reasons the left hated Reagan so much was they felt betrayed by him leaving the demorat party
The Country is already Liberal.
I disagree, as do many. :-)

We all know what a politician says and what he does are two different things, as with Trump. However, at least he says what people are thinking.
Sadly, I wish it were true my Friend, but actions speak louder than words.
Allow me to quote an Old Retired Navy Chief that worked for me years ago, “wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up first”.
The People might actually believe they are Conservative, and even here on FR there are varying degrees of Conservatives, but they don’t act Conservative in the least.
Some of us living in Conservative enclaves might thing that is the norm, but living in a bubble is not reflective of the Country’s reality.
That is how I see it and I always have a bit of hope that I am mistaken so I can sleep at night.
>>>Some of us living in Conservative enclaves might THINK that is the norm, but living in a bubble is not reflective of the Countrys reality<<<
Sometimes I hate Spell Check...

We need rule of law.
Ted Cruz is the man who wants to fight for that.
He doesn't even have to say it, his actions and words show it.
