John Boehner, GOP Establishment Targeting Ted Yoho
sunshinestatenews.com ^ | 6/30/15 | Kevin Derby

The Republican leadership is after U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., but the North Florida congressman is trying to use that opposition to rally conservatives in his district.

Yoho made national headlines earlier this year when he challenged U.S. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to lead the House. While Yoho did not garner much support, other challengers to Boehner -- namely U.S. Rep. Dan Webster, R-Fla. .-- received more votes but the speaker retained the gavel.

The House leadership pushed back at Yoho by cutting off travel funds, much like they did with U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, another outspoken conservative opponent of Boehner.

As reported last week, the leadership kept Yoho from attending the Summit of the Americas in Panama earlier this year.

Yoho insisted on Tuesday that Boehner and the leadership was targeting him.

“The establishment is looking to recruit a candidate to challenge me, our team, and ultimately what we stand for,” Yoho informed supporters on Tuesday morning. “We've worked too hard for too long to let that happen.

Despite the opposition of Boehner and the leadership, Yoho noted he would “continue to reject the status quo and put America first.”

After decades of work as a large-animal veteran in rural North Florida, Yoho burst onto the political scene in 2012 when he defeated then-U.S. Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., who served 24 years in Congress, in the Republican primary. During the 2012 primary, Boehner backed Stearns, hosting a fundraiser for him in Clay County. Yoho responded in kind when he took his seat in Congress in early 2013, voting against Boehner to lead the caucus.

My message to Crying John: “In 2014, you and other Republicans promised to repeal ObamaCare (or SCOTUSCare, if you wish). YOU LIED.

In 2014, you and other Republicans promised to secure our borders. YOU LIED.

In 2014, you and other Republicans ran as Conservatives. YOU LIED.

You have accomplished more for the President than Pelosi ever could.

Not to worry, in 2016 you won’t have your job anymore.

Former Republican who won’t be fooled again.”

Not that he cares.

Yoho is my critter. He said he was only going to serve 2 terms.

The Republican Party ‘seduces and abandons’ conservatives everytime because the corporatist interests that want to silence anyone who doesn’t agree with their agenda fund the GOPe and its honchos like Jeb Bush, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

I’m no Donald Trump fan by a mile, I support Cruz. But Trump’s treatment by Comcast-NBC Universal etc. shows us the truth about what’s going on in the corporatist-banker run world that the GOP will never stop.

YOU WILL ACCEPT AMNESTY, GAY MARRIAGE, TRADE AGREEMENTS, COMMON CORE, OBAMACARE, BAILOUT TERMS FOR YOUR SOVERIGN NATIONS OR ELSE......

Elections have consequences. Especially for speaker.

You sit there an condemn everything and offer nothing. “We have to stop doing that”...what do you do when “stop doing” what? Sit it out? Vote libertarian? Just plain not vote for any Republican because it puts a checkmark over in Boehner’s column.

I voted for two individuals who I thought would work to stop Obama and work according to my wishes. I didn’t vote anything for Boehner. My congressman actually voted against him on the TPA.

I’ve already said I won’t vote for Bush or any other GOPe candidate, my primary vote is going to Cruz - what do you want me to do? Vote for an independent, a libertarian?

You’re not offering anything but sheep and stop it.

Don’t give me that crap. You’ve seen plenty of my posts saying the same thing for years. Get the hell behind a conservative and vote for them. The problem is excuses never let that happen do they?

What, you gonna tell me that it’s not what we should be doing? If you agree it’s what we should be doing, why the hell aren’t you doing it every freaking election?

What? Do you want me to type out some War and Peace level solution when most of the supposedly ‘conservative’ people on this site can’t even be bothered to stick to the basics of conservativism?

You didn’t listen to the basic idea, why should I or any of us that have been pushing this radical idea think you’s suddenly come to Jesus on a detailed plan that includes it as the core?

I am behind a conservative - Cruz. You’re the broken record. What excuse did I give you that warrants “sheep” name calling? I’ve pretty much done what you have but you call it being a sheep. You aren’t any help.

Because WE ARE SHEEP!

You’re behind Cruz. Great. So am I. What are you gonna do if he loses the primary and it’s down to liberals? Vote for one? Yes I think you should vote liberitarian in that case. Or write in a conservative. Not WILLINGLY empower a liberal. Did you help elect Romney? Did the words “Lesser evil” or “No matter what” ever leave your keyboard?

We ALL have been sheep. -ALL- of us. Thats what got us here. Some called it quits with Same old GOP crap at Mccain, Some at Romney, some since.

But the majority are STILL flooding this site and every other right wing place with “Well... I’ll support X but if they lose I’ll vote Jeb or Trump or whoever” and then we get MORE leftism.

Pretty impossible to deny thats happening. And we have to STOP doing it. You stop by sticking to conservative principles and voting conservative

Win or lose.

Yes, I get your line - over and over. Stop it, don’t be a sheep, and anything you say (to me personally) is wrong because you are a sheep.

Because you are discouraged there are a lot here who “flood this site” with appeasing talk of settling for Jeb if their candidate doesn’t make it DOES NOT INCLUDE ME. I’ve made that pretty clear in my posts in this thread and in others.

All you’ve succeeded in doing (and we are allied in a manner at least in sentiments) is pissing me off. I’d hate to think how these people who you’re trying to convince to give up the settle-for-second-worst-evil crowd are taking it. Beyond that, I don’t really have anything else to say to you.

He is my Rep also. He is a good conservative. He said he would only serve two terms unless the people wanted him to serve longer. The GOPe tried to run against him for this stance and they weren’t successful.

I’m not sure but, I believe Debbie Boyd ran as the D. Although she is a Dem, she is probably more right wing than Boner

Overall I think Ted is pretty safe in this district.

Good. Get pissed. Get good and pissed. At me, at the GOP, whatever it takes. Just do not go into a booth and pull a lever to send another liberal POS to destroy America in the name of conservatism.

It’s not like I just pulled this idea out of the air you know. Norm Lenhart, Freeper is not the originator of the idea to call the political right ‘sheep’. Nor am I the first guy to ever say ‘vote for a conservative.

You know why I keep saying it? Sure I love the sound of my own typing. The clicks are soothing ;) but that’s not why. Why is because as I said, people keep making every excuse under creation to NOT do it.

It’s called standing up and fighting for what you believe in. And if we cannot EVEN do it on a sight designed exactly for that purpose then where do we? Has it been so long since people did it they forget how?

You need to go take your frustrations out on your dog or something. You’re just lashing out blindly.

You’re so pissed about it that you keep focusing on things you attribute to me that are completely and baselessly untrue, and your answers to me are always “people this and people that”. I’m not “people”. I’ve told you what I did and intend to do.

I don’t care how long you’ve been here and what you’ve said before. You’re just talking incoherent trash right now. I’m not going to be your convenient whipping boy because you are frustrated with “people”.

Ted Yoho is a flip flopper on some issues but is a top 20 or top 30 Steve King acolyte on immigration.

His “conservative alternative” primary opponent was some cartoon character guy who wanted Dreamers to act as mercenaries.

Yoho is in the blue shirt. Fleming(La.), Yoho(Fl.) and Gohmert. King speaking and I think the Congressman to the left of the picture is from Georgia.
