No offense to the faithful truly, but the sect was founded by a king... the needs of the State have priority over the word of God.

The church split years ago over this issue. The entire Episcopal church is not doing gay marriages.

Jesus didn’t say anything about sodomy because not one, single, solitary person in his audience, not even Herod, not even Pilate, needed to be told that sodomy is a sin. Not one single, solitary person for whom the gospels were written needed to be told that sodomy is a sin. The authors of the New Testament did not waste precious paper and ink on matters on which there was universal, total agreement.

It’s also about pro homo curriculum being taught in kindergarten and early grades in public schools.

Some are holding strong. The Dallas Diocese is one, for example.

Amish and old order Mennonites also don’t accept bc within marriage, to my understanding. Also some independent types.

I don’t think any faith group has accepted ‘gay marriage’ with out first accepting female clergy/pastors.

I am no Catholic...but I know enough of them to know that American Catholics are much more Liberal than the Holy Church's official position. Most of the Supreme Court is Catholic--allegedly.

This Methodist suspects that renegade priests will soon be performing same-sex marriages in Catholic parishes. We will see what this Pope does about it.

I am dreading next year's UMC General Conference. The crack-up that one pastor predicted to me 16 years ago may finally happen.

Its really sad to see a church die, but i suppose when your willing to give up on the written word of God in the bible one starts to wonder if your a church at all.

“Even the doling out of punishment under the law is now subject to ‘aspects of a minority being overly represented. Logic does not seem to have as much pull or influence as it did even ten years ago. Actions and deeds are less judged than are motivations. Now, most societal changes and adjustments seem to be based on ‘feelings’ and presumptions of attitudes.”

This is an unfortunate truth and as Christians or conservative we can expect no justice just as there is no longer any law but the ideological disposition of the men in power.

We will be found guilty simply because of their own presumptuous against us no matter what we do. In the end a Christian has to choose between being trying in vane to avoid begin persecuted on earth and obedience to God.

It seems quite obvious to anyone who knows the lord that Obedience to God is the only real path to victory.

He did.
Read a few verses beginning at both Mark 10:6 and Matthew 19:4, it is GOD’s teaching on...marriage.

Marriage is sacred in the catholic church.
It is the line in the sand they can’t cross. If they cross it, the church is done. Gay sex is a defect of nature and behavior. Once a church starts to celebrate defective activity as a sacred activity, it is done. The church is about truth. It can’t survive such a fundamental hypocrisy. Such a lie.

I’m catholic. I had to tell my nine year old daughter that our government is run by lunatics or worse, and why.

-- ... the main reason that many churches will allow Gay Marriage will be to keep their Tax Exempt Status. --

That, and to keep the pews full by being popular.

Exactly right. But in a society in decline, the last thing that matters is the next generation.

Thanks for the explanation, but I’m sure you would agree that the hardships you describe pale in comparison to the reward for being faithful. Also at some point, having actually had ‘justice’ at some time in our lives as Americans, there exists a strong likelihood that a justice system that isn’t, will experience the ire of those that have been unfairly judged.

The queer and/or queer-lover is probably still reading, so I'll pose this for his consideration. How could the Lord of creation "never imagine" something?

And since Jesus is God in the flesh, how could He contradict His own word, which is clear that homosexuality is a vile abomination?

The liberal homo lover wasn't thinking....he was feeeeeeeeeling.
