Believe me, I know who and what the Left is - my family was severely victimized by the Soviet variety. I am simply saying that the Confederate flag is not necessarily the right sword to fall on, and that the narrative could be changed by throwing it back at the Dems.
Guess I’ll be wearing my Infidel shirt to the races this weekend....on a local race team.
Yeah its not uncommon around here in southern Michigan. A guy just outside town has a big mural painted on the side of his pole barn with a tattered confederate flag on a mountaintop.
Sounds like NASCAR took a turn to the left.

The smarter move would be to boycott, while NASCAR insists on that kind of pressure. Stay home to get ready for the economic collapse. Let the political class spew its will-gotten cash flows from government-derived sources.
Or attend sports car events instead. That’s were less expensive, more efficient technology is going anyway, and those more technically-concerned folks with their European flag stickers and the like will welcome you.
Re-learn American ingenuity. Build something from the ground, up, the way that our forefathers did. The knowledge is out there. There are even many YouTube videos teaching how to work with carbon fiber and composites. You’re rednecks. You can build or fix anything. Remember that.
Nice of you to completely ignore my discussion about turning around the argument on the Dems - because it IS their flag.
You want a “rebel” flag - how about the Gadsden flag (”Don’t tread on me”)? It is the ORIGINAL rebel flag for this country. It pisses off the elites just as much. Let’s tar the correct party with slavery and racism - which is the Dems, by any objective analysis of history.
Oh, and FYI, I am not in favor of letting the Leftists take anything without a fight - I just want to be choosy over what I fight about, and turn them to the defensive.
Don’t feed revenues to them by attending their races. They’ll only use those revenues against you in politics.
If NASCAR was worried about cash, they’d STFU and stay out of the flag argument.
I'm in the Rocky Mountain West (NW MT), and it is not uncommon to see a Rebel flag flying, especially out in the brush - But more importantly, it is pervasive in Country culture - It is very common to see Rebel flag stickers on trucks, patches on jackets, hat pins, coffee cups - I think you'd be hard pressed not to find it represented somewhere, somehow, in any country home.
And I rode rodeo back in my misspent youth - Been all over the Rocky Mountain West, and the Dakotas... I have kin down in Kansas and Missouri... In all those years, in all those places, 'teenage rebellion' from the country kids always involved that Rebel Flag.
So that 'Southren Pride' is part and parcel with 'Country Pride', right along with the 'Rebellion against Tyranny', both are intrinsic in Country Life... Perhaps not to the degree evident in the South, but enough to know what it means.
I won’t watch it anymore either. Fans who buy tickets need to realize they’re being told to change their attitude or don’t come. In other words, they’re not wanted. I hope the stands are even more empty than they’ve ever been. And I haven’t seen a full stand on TV in a while.
I guarantee you everyone with a Confederate Flag will be stopped at the gate and told they can’t bring it in.
If the Dixie Chicks said today what they said back then it would have no effect. Remember, today it’s called NEW country.
