Theyre all hating on him now, but the fact is, when theyre just among themselves, Mexicos elites roundly agree with The Donald on Mexican immigrants.
Of the many different reactions to Donald Trumps inaccurate and insulting comments about how Mexican migrants to the United States come from the bottom of the barrel, one of the most interesting has been that of wealthy and powerful Mexican elites who are suddenly long on indignation and outrage but short on memory and self-awareness.
Thats because Trumps dismissive comments about how the United States has become a dumping ground for castaways from Mexico sound like something youd hear bandied about at a Guadalajara country club or a fancy banquet in Mexico City.
After all, Mexicolike the rest of Latin Americais not exactly a model of social equality. There is prejudice and discrimination, pecking orders to which one must adhere. And those who leave the country are often ignored and forgotten.
So it is interesting that Trump has became so unpopular with the Mexican elites, who are usually content to watch from a safe distance the divisive immigration debate in the United States. If youre a doctor or lawyer or businessman in Mexico City, and you shop at Louis Vuitton and spend your summer vacations in Europe, the plight of poor and uneducated Mexican migrants in the United States must seem like someone elses problem.
Mexico is a country dividedby political parties, generations, skin color, geography, urban vs rural. You name it. But the deepest division has to be based on class lines.
The elites are so busy feeling superior to most of their countrymen that few of them take the time to think about how their country benefits from those who migrate to the north.

Ruben never told us how Trump’s comments are inaccurate.
“The elites are so busy feeling superior to most of their countrymen that few of them take the time to think about how their country benefits from those who migrate to the north.”
Reuben, that’s a lie!
Ever tried crossing through Mexico’s Southern border?
Let’s put this in another more visual way...
To view how Mexico’s elites view the rest of their country, look no further than Mexican TV.
Ever notice most, if not all, of the presenters/actors, etc are more Castilian (sp?) in their appearances than Mestizo?
It’s almost as though anyone of Indian blood is not worthy of appearing on television.
Mexican elites are the most racist people on the planet, they make the Afrikaaners during Apartheid look like amateurs.
Nicely written piece, but he never deals with Trump’s point. You know if these guys had the stats to shoot Trump down they’d have whipped them out by now. But they haven’t, which means there’s some truth to what Trump is saying.
Mexico is engaging in ethnic cleansing. They’re ridding themselves of the folk who remain low IQ for generations.
They gladly facilitate the transfer of like folk from their southern border for their financial gain..
It’s a win-win for Mexico, Central America, the Dems, and the GOPe.
During the Mexican Revolution about 100 years ago many of the elite Mexicans fled to the United States. One of my teachers told me the story of his educated Mexican grandfather. As they traveled north there was a dead body hanging from every telephone pole along the road. Those rich Mexicans don’t want to see that again.
Remember This....It got awfully quite about the rape Armageddon that Latina girls were facing and that they had to be immediately brought in to the US to be saved. But Trump saying people are rapists is not nice, but Obama saying it is humanitarian........
Thousands of Girls and Women are Fleeing Rape, Sexual Violence and Torture in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala
These talking points have been developed by CGRS in collaboration with other national organizations leading the charge to protect unaccompanied children.
A Growing Number of Unaccompanied Children Arriving in the U.S. Are Young Girls.
40 percent of unaccompanied children who arrived in 2014 were girls, compared with 27 percent in the past.
In Honduras, Femicide — the Systematic Killing of Girls and Women with Impunity Is Widespread.
In July 2014 the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women noted that violent deaths of women in Honduras had increased 263.4 percent between 2005 and 2013. The Special Rapporteur noted scores of concerns regarding the high levels of domestic violence, femicide, and sexual violence.
In Honduras there is a 95 percent impunity rate for sexual violence and femicide crimes. As noted by the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, the lack of accountability for violations of human rights of women, is the norm rather than the exception.
An 11-year-old girl in Nueva Suyupa, Honduras resisted being robbed by two men. They dragged her off, cut a hole in her throat, stuffed her panties in it, and left her body in a ravine.
Three girls, including an 8-year-old, were recently raped and killed in Nueva Suyapa, Honduras. Two 15-year-olds were abducted and raped. The kidnappers told them that if they didnt get in the car, they would kill their entire families.
Girls Are Fleeing Sexual Violence at the Hands of Gangs in Honduras and El Salvador.
Ms. L was raped by more than a dozen gang members in Honduras. After reporting the gang rape to the police, her family began to receive death threats. There are only three shelters in Honduras for rape survivors, but two of them operate as brothels. The one remaining shelter declined to take Ms. L in because the shelter could not protect her or any of the other shelter residents from gang violence. Ms. L had no choice but to flee Honduras.
Carlita, a 13-year-old, fled gang violence in El Salvador. She was kidnapped by the Zetas in Mexico, used for sex, and forced to be a drug mule for them, before escaping and ultimately making it to the U.S.
Ms. H survived multiple rapes in Honduras. After she fled, she was kidnapped by a Mexican gang that raped and tortured her. She eventually got to the U.S.
Ms. N and Ms. O, at ages 15 and 8, fled El Salvador. Their older female cousins had been forced to work as sex slaves for gang leaders. The gang threatened to kill Ms. N and her family. Ms. N and Ms. O fled to the U.S. and were placed in removal proceedings.
Ms. E fled El Salvador when she was 8 years old. Gang members had kidnapped her two older sisters. The girls mother did not want her 8-year-old daughter to suffer the same fate, so she arranged for her daughter to be brought to the U.S.

Ask that murderer in San Francisco how he did it five times so easily!
I don’t think that they don’t have time to think about it. Quite the contrary. I think they have been actually pushing their problems on to us. Sweep it under the rug, or t lest, across the border.
What's happening in Mexico is an economic version of Rwanda. The European-Spanish Mexicans are ethnically cleansing out the Mestizo/Native Mexicans.
Of course they do.They don’t want them either.
Wrong Southern border amigo. You cross Mexico’s Southern border illegally you get shot.
Same way in politics. Wiki says that 60% of the population are Mestizos but their representation in the Mexican Congress is miniscule.
Are in tune with reality? The southern border is hundreds and hundreds of mile long (1989 miles to be exact). Do have any clue how many guards with guns would be necessary for every yard on the border to be within shooting range?
Most illegal crossings are done during the dark hours. You would need a guard positioned every 25 feet at night to see seal the border = 420,077 guards on duty during the dark hours. Even during day light, you would need 42,000 guards all lined up across the border to see every illegal crossing the border.
Ask Sean Hannity about the border. He has visited it more than any celebrity I can think of.
Are new girls being born every day in Honduras and other countries south of the border? Should we look forward to a steady stream of raped women from every country stream into our country?
How about abused women from Africa & Asia? SHould we allow them to fly in on jet planes?
Are we rolling in surplus funds in US Treasury to support all these raped women coming across? Do we nave a nanational surplus or a national debt?
You understand that Orville and Wilbur happened a long, long time ago, right?
Ahh so you wish to fly planes flying all night with thermal imagers! And shoot down all warm bodies? I got news for you, it will never happen!!! The Media will have a field day when women and children are found shot dead during the dark hours. Get a good dose of reality.
