A man who police say was part of a group who targeted two former CNN staffers at an Albuquerque Motel 6 and gave shooter Tomorio Walton a gun to rob them was arrested Thursday morning.
Walton tried to rob Lynne Russell, former CNN anchor, and her husband Chuck de Caro, a former CNN reporter, the night of June 30 while they were staying at a Motel 6 near Coors and Iliff NW. Walton fired at de Caro, and de Caro returned fire, killing Walton, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
De Caro hasnt been charged. Instead, Waltons accomplice, 30-year-old Skyy Barrs is facing murder charges for allegedly being involved in criminal activity that led to Waltons death.
Barrs was arrested Thursday morning by Special Investigations Division officers. He is charged with murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated burglary and five counts of conspiracy.

I love felony murder charges - they’re society’s way of punishing people with poor strategic planning skills.
Those damned “amish” are really getting a bad name for themselves.
A moment spent worrying about Tomorio, is a moment lost today.
Dey is Black peoples in New Mexiko?
Skyy appears to have all the intelligence of a hemlock stump. An androgynous hemlock stump.
Also, why do they always have to state that the victim has not been charged? I mean, seriously?

What? You don't like names like Tomorio, Shuntayvious, Laddarick, Haraquan, Daquantrius, and on and on, ad nauseum?
“Also, why do they always have to state that the victim has not been charged? I mean, seriously?”
Because lib reporters are upset when people who defend themselves with firearms are not charged with a crime.
A bit more than 2%
Ex-CNN types. In an earlier thread on the story, somebody pointed out that CNN wasn't reporting on the use of firearms with a positive outcome by their former employees.
So much for family...maybe if the couple were of the same gender...
Not just felony murder - he was an accomplice who planned the robbery and gave the dead perp the gun.
This group came from Memphis.
Perhaps Skyy could also be charged with harboring a fugitive if he was aware?
I assume they will hit him with every charge they can. This scumbag needs to be locked up a good long time.
I hope so.
