Donald Trump's position on immigration does not seem to be hurting the real-estate developer's standing in the Republican presidential primary.
Two new polls have him in first place among registered Republican voters.
The latest poll arrived Thursday. In the Economist/YouGov poll, Trump holds 15% of the Republican vote nationally ahead of former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida (11%).
The good news for Trump doesn't stop there.

You have “prominent” demoncrats calling for a change to sanctuary cities.
WTF
The Democrats like to pride themselves as being the party of “movers and shakers.” The Republicans, meanwhile, are called the party of status-quo. Now, Trump enters the race and becomes a mover and shaker, and they can’t handle that.
Donald decided he should record the conversation in case anyone questioned the veracity of it.
Trump is using the truth like a flame thrower while Jeb!,Marco and the rest stand on the sidelines with their noses in the air.
Because they know if Trump is in the debates, Cruz and Trump will run
the table.
The other candidates need to start opposing the importation of rapists and murderers if they want to keep up.
This isn’t to target you personally because many share this notion.
Who exactly wants to stand up on FR, or the right as a whole and say they were so blind as to not know who these frauds are? What ‘outing could ANYONE POSSIBLY DO?
They have gone lockstep with the Democrats on every issue. They paid faked lip service to votes they could not win and tanked the ones they could.
They come out after every loss or setback to declare “Time to move on” and then attack conservatives and their non liberal base as the problem.
So who did not notice this happening for years? Stevie Wonder? No I think he saw it too.
But the problem isn’t lack of sight. It’s lack of willpower. After the gay thing we had a number of freepers say ‘move on’ just like the GOP leadership. Thats one example of our willpower.
If there is blindndness it’s intentional. If there is ‘unknowing’ it’s because people stuck their fingers in their ears when a lot of us said it repeatedly before the last couple elections.
There is no excuse.
Who is your candidate? Do you support one of the very liberal republicans like Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio?
Yes.
“WE” are engaged in an undertaking of major importance to red-blooded Americans, which is to make us once again the land of the free; the home of the brave.
And if you Rove butt-boys would stop playing politics as usual maybe “WE” could get something meaningful accomplished.
then what in the hell are we doing?
Not a fan of Trump, never have been.
I would prefer that some of the other candidates take strong positions against illegal aliens and their employers.
Most of them have already stated they care more about illegal aliens than the citizens or the rule law.
Trump is tapping into the huge anger of the citizens against the perfidy of our elected officials who refuse to stop the illegal alien inundation.
I think Trump will do well in the debates. A lot better than Jeb trying to answer a 17 year old girl’s question about Iraq.
That is what I like about Trump. He does’t try to dance around the issues.
The only question left to ask is who will be Trump’s running mate.
As President, Trump would probably unseal obambie’s records so we can finally find out who this manchurian works for. That alone would make it worth it.
Well, I haven’t made up my mind about anything yet, but at the moment I can’t imagine supporting either of those two - unless the only other option were Hildebeast.
I’d like to see more out of Cruz and as a Political hobbyist also out of Christie. I know his stance on guns isn’t good, but I doubt he’d be the one to lead a national charge to infringe that right. Clinton on the other hand...
No more Bushes. No more Clintons.
And he’s great for a sound bite. Like his comment to Anderson Cooper: “Everybody loves me”............
As a Floridian, I will vote for Bernie, Biden or Hillary before those two amigos.
He's simply calling a blue sky, blue. He's taking a beating for it, to be sure, but you know the adage: If you're taking flack you're probably over the target...
I agree with R2nd, that he won't be on the ticket. In the end, there will probably be more to dislike about Trump than to like. However, I don't get all the ire about Trump that I see here on FR. If he's surging right now, he's doing something right. At least on the subject of border security, he is appealing to the conservative base. The candidates who are running a campaign based on "offending as few people as possible" may as well hang it up now. My hope is that The Donald will draw out more of the ostensibly conservative republicans to follow suit and start speaking out and pulling no punches. Obama and Biden sure as heck didn't worry if they offended some people on their way to destroying America.
Instead of complaining about Trump, conservatives ought to be asking "why isn't my candidate of choice saying this kind of stuff?"
“Because they know if Trump is in the debates, Cruz and Trump will run
the table.”
I would donate a kidney to see that!
