Phil Williams, a state senator from Alabama, went to a BBQ and catfish restaurant this past week where he saw a plaque on the wall that made him stop and think.
Here it is
From Conservative Tribune:
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom, the plaque read. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
This statement brings to mind Newtons third law of motion, which states, For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Likewise, every time that someone who does not work benefits from the work of others, those who do work suffer.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not take from somebody else, the plaque continued.
Socialism. Its not just for Europe anymore!
The American Dream is slowly dying because of the Obama voter. Sure, its easier to do nothing and take from others, but what it does is decimate the nation. A decent person would agree.
Why liberals dont view (or dont want to view) the U.S. as the greatest country in the world is pretty baffling.
A place where folks can find a text copy:

to cook ... One must light a fire ... BBQ and Catfish are not an exception to fire ...
I dont find it difficult at all to understand why the Liberals dont see the United States as the Greatest Country in the world.
You cant gather a revolutionary army from the people of the greatest country in the world. The Liberal want a revolution in this country so that they can have absolute power can have perpetual power.
They must sow the seeds of discontent so that they can grow their revolutionary army. To create that discontent they must convince at least a large minority that believe that they are repressed and discriminated against. Note that the Liberals list of discriminated groups is forever growing.
It is far easier to persuade an unhappy people to go to war than a happy one.
Or to encapsulate it a different way, here is Lady Margaret Thatcher saying “The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
I think he was one of the past presidents of the Southern Baptist Association.
Government payments to our farmers are published on the internet. Names and dollar amounts are published.
I want government payments to welfare recipients published on the internet. I want to know where all the welfare money is going. I want to see names and dollar amounts.
Bump.
Bkmrk.
I want government payments to welfare recipients published on the internet. I want to know where all the welfare money is going. I want to see names and dollar amounts.
This should include Social Security recipients as well. ALL government takings for transfer to individuals should cease. We should enforce the "general welfare" clause and forbid "specific welfare." And yes, this does include Social Security.
Raysis!!!
Very close to this:
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
Which I’d been led to believe was an Abraham Lincoln quote.

If they discontinue social security, I want the money I have “contributed” back.
Thanks JimRed.

Adrian Rogers was a great pastor of a church in Memphis, TN. His programs are still shown on Sunday afternoons a 2 pm central time. I listened to one of his radio programs yesterday while driving over into Georgia and back. He was a great man of God and I am sure his church misses his teaching. But at least they and we have his old programs to watch and listen to now.
