With the 2016 general election a little less than 16 months away, key polling data for Hillary Clinton shows that her numbers look a lot like President Barack Obama's in 2012 and could be bad news for Republicans.
The American Communities Project took the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal polling data and ran it through its filter.
The numbers show Republicans may have a hard road ahead. Across the types for which we had sufficient numbers for a sample dense Big Cities, wealthy, diverse Urban Suburbs, and sprawling Exurbs figures for Clinton look eerily similar to those Obama scored in his re-election effort.
We also collected numbers from a group of less-populated rural communities groups counties ACP calls Rural Middle America, Graying America and the Aging Farmlands. These numbers show the familiar splits that favor Republicans.
But the over-riding point is that at this early stage of 2016, the electorate looks very similar in its 2012 patterns when you compare Hillary Clinton to the top three GOP competitors.

Only an outlier who isn't part of that mess has a chance.
I didn’t see CRUZ on that list either.
And NBC never, ever, lies.
“I didnt see CRUZ on that list either.”
Yeah, according to the MSM, it’s a done deal, Boosh/Hitlary. Fine, let these effete turds continue down that road ignoring the candidates (only one or two to be sure) on the GOP side that could actually win the WH and continue to dream of a Boosh/Hitlary race.
Of course, NBC is trying to prop up the staggering HRC campaign with a dose of optimism for her here. The major flaws in a comparison between the 2012 vote and the situation now are (1) the GOP candidate has yet to emerge and that Rubio and Walker likely can’t even be identified by the vast majority of a dumbed down general electorate and (2) in so far as all these types of locations (especially big cities) are concerned, Clinton can’t hope to get anywhere near the same black turnout as Obama did in 2012. Furthermore it’s presumptuous to anoint Bush, Rubio, and Walker as the three big GOP contenders at this stage. In sum, these numbers are pretty darn worthless.
Are these the same polls that had Bibi losing 2 months ago?
Pray America is waking
Just another reason to restructure the electoral college to award EVs based on congressional districts with the two senatorial EVs going to the majority winner in that state.
I stopped reading right there. I figured in all probability the next letter would be a 'C'. Was I right? I guess I'll never know...
I think you meant many, many Republicans who haven't been voting, especially if you are referring to 2012. That, plus the fact that there were Romney votes in 2012 that weren't counted (especially in urban areas in swing states) due to cheating in the vote count on the part of the 'rats, and you have the recipe for Romney's defeat. How else do you account for a bunch of precincts in Cleveland and Philadelphia where Romney supposedly got ZERO votes?
I read this morning that 70% of the people who voted for Obama in 2012 wish they hadn’t voted for him.
70%
I don’t think that anybody who voted Republican wishes that they now had voted for Obama.
Obama is the head of the Democrat Party.
70% of the Democrat voters wish they hadn’t voted for him.
Good grief. Why isn’t every Republican bringing this up at every meeting and interview?
Why would anyone want to vote for more Obama? That’s what the Democrats will do.
President Romney said the GOP only needs to follow the same gameplan that elected him President in 2012.
Running to the left of the Democrat in the general election, as Romney did, is a guaranteed plan for success. Above all, make sure to support comprehensive Immigration reform. It was a key to the Romney victory in 2012. ;-)
Let me guess, if the Republicans don’t IMMEDIATELY pass Amnesty and then assure OPEN BORDERS forever, we’ll never have a chance.
Thanks NBC, but as Trump is showing, we’re not listening to you guys anymore...at least not this round.
I think you are absolutely right
Probably right, directly because he refused to secure the border.
I understand what you’ve written. But there are many blue-collar and self-employed whites who have stopped voting as they’ve realized that the Democrats are targeting ALL whites.
For credibility, Brian Williams has personally endorsed this poll. He did so from behind his desk; a desk that he personally constructed from teak wood single-handedly hewn from trees in Borneo and personally floated over a treacherous waterfall that no one had previously traversed...
With the election 16 months away, key polling data isn't worth a bucket of warm "spit". If the bitch is polling well with 1 month to go, then I'll worry.
"I trust these NBC poll numbers
because I found them in my sock drawer."
I think so too. I think presidential elections now are much ado about nothing. You simply can’t beat the demographics.
If the GOP goes ‘safe’ and puts another Bush or Rubio in as their standard bearer...Hillary will have nothing to worry about.
