“Perfect candidate? He is polling somewhere near tenth place right now against a weak field of losers.”
Watch it, some folks around here can’t handle the truth, as it were.
It does no one any good if one is “the perfect conservative candidate” but the people won’t vote for you. Ted Cruz is fantastic, he would make a great VP or member of SCOTUS, but he’s not getting elected president this time around. His poll numbers are terrible going into the debates.
That’s reality but some here don’t like reality and bash Trump instead. They can bash Trump all day long and in the end they will get: Jeb Bush. Which will give us Hillary.
And the American Republic will have breathed its last...
You should try reading the artical
"Backed up with nearly 250 endnotes, citing everything from Government Accountability Institute (GAO) reports to Sherman Antitrust Act amendments to the Theory of Moral Sentiments, Trumps book clearly lays out serious policy solutions to vexing U.S. problems. Welfare reform, cyberwarfare, energy, illegal immigration and crime, taxes, healthcare, national defenseyou name it, Trump offers his plans, often including specific bills and amendments."
Like it or not a big part of being a candidate is marketing. As a businessman Trump understands this completely. Most politicians don't. They have "experts" to help them "craft" an image. Trump is brand of his own and has been for decades. He takes advantage of it.
I love Cruz and think he would be a great president. But right now Trump is MARKETING the very things that Cruz stands for. That's not a bad thing. It's great. He's penetrating the consciousness of people and putting these issues into their heads. Cruz so far has failed at that. That's not a knock, but nobody else can do what Trump is doing right now.
Now I think Cruz is smart enough to realize all this which is WHY he's standing behind the ideas that Trump is putting out there. Notice what I said...he's standing for the IDEAS.
Cruz is probably, or should be, thanking Trump for this.
