Ah, yes. I was a transplant from CA when I did battle with the GOP establishment in TX who all thought that HW Bush, or John Connolly, would make better presdential nominees than Reagan. They claimed that "Reagan was too old, not a true conservative, just a washed up Hollywood flack," etc.
This is totally false.
More than any of that, you have to be concerned when he puts conservative hater Brad Dayspring on as a key adviser.
He did NOT block open records. He line-item vetoed that measure. Don’t spread lies.
That was when Rick Perry became a Republican - to support Ronald Reagan! But many Texas Democrats were already really very conservative.
"....In addition to the Democrats completely shifting from where they used to stand, most in the GOP establishment have moved away from protecting Americans as wellin large part due to the special interests and big business lobbyists pushing for a massive influx in cheap foreign labor. Thats what terrifies Washington so much about a viable candidate for the presidency like Walker coming out as strongly as he has as an immigration populistand why the long knives are out to get him from pretty much everybody."....
Yep, there's the rub. OTOH, Cruz didn't gain any favors with the way he handled TPA.
Show me a link with that endorsement.
As I’ve continually said, it doesn’t matter who the candidates are going to be; we’ll destroy every last one, and that will also include Ted Cruz...just give it time.
If I were a Democrat, I’d simply sit back with my popcorn and laugh.
So....where does he stand on illegal immigration?
surely you’re not so uninformed as not to know Dayspring was hired by Super PAC Unintimidated PAC. Walker does not and can not control what the PAC does.
Besides, I don’t know how bad a guy who nearly came to blows with that idiot Eric Cantor and got fired for it can be.
Oh, I know. I lived in TX on area) (Houston area) when the GOP was the minority party. Only John Tower had any statewide success. Connolly was a born-again Republican, having switched parties from being a life-long Democrat. George HW Bush had been run out of town for his open housing legislation.
I think the biggest turn around was when finally the TX legislature and the County offices turned Republican. That took place over a 10 year period in the 1970s.
“...Shirley & Banister Public Affairs will be handling strategic communications for Walkers Super PAC, the Unintimidated PAC, and providing historical context that will prove crucial for the campaign. Since the firms two partnersCraig Shirley and Diana Banisterare extraordinarily connected among major players in the conservative movement, theyll be filling a key gap in Walkers growing team of influential staffers.
Were delighted to join this fantastic team working on behalf of Governor Walker, said Banister, President of SBPA. His refreshing approach to important national issues, shows Governor Walker is a strong leader who is truly unintimidated by powerful political forces and the Washington-knows-best-mentality that often leaves behind the best interests of the American people. We gladly join him in this fight.
One of the hallmarks of SBPA is we only work with people with whom we agree and we not only agree with Governor Walker, we admire him, Shirley said in an emailed statement to Breitbart News. He is a conservative, he is honest, ethical, tough and principled. We are proud of our new association with Governor Walker.
The firm has been active in the conservative movement since 1984, helped Reagans re-election, has represented groups like the National Rifle Association, Tea Party Patriots, the Club For Growth, and more. Instead of focusing on mainstream media efforts, Shirley & Banister focuses much of its resources on new media like conservative online media, talk radio and other grassroots-centered materialsyet another sign that Walker doesnt care about the Washington establishment way of doing things.”.........
Wow...he sure has a funny way of showing he is an immigration hardliner. First by supporting amnesty as county executive and inviting a Mexican consulate to set up in Wisconsin.
Maybe it was the pro-amnesty staffer that he hired Liz Mair, who is an open borders advocate.
Maybe it was when he hired Brad Dayspring....

....or maybe it is how he talks about adding Marco “Amnesty” Rubio to the his ticket.
Yep....that sounds like someone who stands tough on illegal immigration.
Pay attention. He's agin' it! Go home and go to the back of the line if you are here illegally..
That all predated me but I’ve been learning a lot during my time here in the Houston suburbs.
: )
What is your explanation for talks with Rubio? Is Walking scheming for GOPe slot, maybe as VP to Bush III; or team with Rubio should Bush continue to falter?
Bet Walker holds, maybe even loses in the polls this week.
North, South, East, or West suburbs? We were in Ft. Bend County for 10 years.
DO you even know what a consulate is for? Why it is a good thing to have?
Brad Dayspring is a PAC hire not a Walker hire.
Walker’s ribbing Rubio (as being to green).
Who’s your candidate? How is he doing in the polls?
He's bantering with him and telling the voters that Rubio is green.
