After Obama appearance, former President Bill Clinton to address NAACP convention

PHILADELPHIA — One day after President Barack Obama addresses the annual NAACP convention in Philadelphia, former president Bill Clinton will appear to deliver a speech on civil rights challenges.

Obama, who is scheduled to appear at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the 106th annual gathering going on in Center City this week, will speak from a federal government perspective. NAACP officials said Monday evening they are looking forward to Clinton's address.

"President Clinton demonstrated his pragmatic leadership while in the White House. Today, he continues his work as a change-making leader through the Clinton Foundation," Roslyn M. Brock, NAACP chairperson, said in a statement. "As the country is faced with challenges, we look forward to hearing the former president lend his perspective on some of the most important civil rights challenges of our time during the 106th Annual Convention."

"Presidential candidate John Kerry clenched his fist and thrust it into the air at yesterday’s NAACP convention in Philadelphia—in what appeared to be a “Black Power” salute reminiscent of some of the race-based separatist movements of the 1960s.

The Kerry campaign refused to confirm that their candidate “intended” to offer the controversial gesture, the New York Post said.

But photographs of the moment left little room for any other interpretation. Kerry’s “Black Power” salute was delivered from the podium while standing side-by-side with NAACP president Kweisi Mfume."

The clenched-fist salute is also used by communists. John Fonda Kerry was appointed leader of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War by a former member of the Black Panthers. The Panthers were a communist-revolutionary terrorist group like Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army. All were Maoist to be precise.

On the day it opened, so woman was saying it was for blacks and whites - yea, right. I was thinking Ben Carson and/or Mia Love - they both have very inspiring stories IMHO.
