Presidential candidate and Texas Senator Ted Cruz responds to the presidents claim that CBS News reporter Major Garrett's question about Americans unjustly detained in Iran was "nonsense."
SEN. TED CRUZ: I think it was a fair question, and I'll tell you what was nonsense: The president's answer.
Four American hostages in Iran, held for professing their Christian faith, held for, one journalist, held for exercising his First Amendment rights.
And for the entire course of Obama and Biden's administration popping champagne and celebrating this deal with Iran. They did nothing for free those imprisoned Americans. It was one of the many shameful aspects of this catastrophic Iran deal.

1. Why was Bowe Bergdahl worth 5 battlefield commanders and some say billions of dollars?
2. Why were the Iranians permitted to add last second demands like missile technology and conventional arms, but the US didn’t use that opportunity to trade for the hostages?
Obama is not much of an Occam’s Razor difficulty: he’s a traitor.
Freeing the hostages should’ve been a precondition before any negotiations occurred. The absolute dearth of logic and political acumen on this as well as numerous other similar items can lead to only a few conclusions...
1, that they just don’t care about people who don’t tow the administration line steadfastly.
or
2, A combination of the above and that they are totally clueless (inept).
I doubt this was ineptitude, they are doing these things on purpose - Ala Animal Farm where some animals are more equal than others.
I’ve always thought Bergdahl was about emptying Gitmo and the deserter was the excuse. What does Obama care....the whole thing has died down now...and he got what he wanted.
As for Iran....yes, he’s a traitor. in Our White House. Only because of his pigment.
"Cept the President said differently didn't he."
Those four Americans are still hostages for the same reason that Bowe Bergdahl is not; because the president needed a photo op, and he needed it right away.
“Freeing the hostages shouldve been a precondition before any negotiations occurred.”
Absolutely correct - if they had used that approach it would take away Zero’s argument of the danger of negotiating for hostages. Simply no negotiation on other subjects until Iran joined civilized nations and released such prisoners.
But Zero simply doesn’t care about anyone but traitors like himself (Bergdahl, for example).
By not freeing the hostages these morons have just admitted entering into negotiations with known kidnappers. Who still are kidnappers. In other words, the results of these negotiations are irrelavent to Obama.
“that they just dont care about people who dont tow the administration line steadfastly.”
It’s usually “toe the line”, that is, line up with your toes on the line, not “tow the line”.
But with this administration, “towing the line” is what they do with those “lines in the sand” they’re always drawing. As soon as they are challenged, they tow them in reverse.

Not defending Obama, but I have a hard time working up much sympathy for anyone stupid enough to travel to Iran. However foreign governments should be made to fear messing with US citizens on general principle.
Speaking of Bergdahl, did the Army ever issue their report?
I know the court martial is postponed to September, but I think the report was the basis for the court martial, wasn’t it? I wouldn’t swear to that, but I thought it was.
Nor does that mean they ever released the report.
I had wondered about that (tow vs. toe the line). I considered changing it, but got lazy and didn’t look it up.
Mea culpa, and thanks for the correction.
I’m thinking Cruz is one of the few in Congress who isnt bribed or blackmailed.
