Hoping to reach black voters, GOP spends big on far-left radio company

Radio spots began airing today in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, with other markets to be added as the election approaches.

In an attempt to reach these black voters, however, the RNC is embarking on a “significant radio ad campaign” utilizing a broadcast group with a long history of making large individual contributions to left-wing political candidates, including Al Sharpton, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA), Rep Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep James Clyburn (D-SC), former Rep Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL), Rep Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and others. That’s in addition to substantial contributions to President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Donations to Republicans by its directors have been rare, if at all.

According to its website, Radio One is “an urban-oriented, multi-media company that primarily targets African-American and urban consumers” with 55 broadcast stations covering 16 urban markets.

Dear GOP, if you’re gonna throw money away, might as well head to Baltimore with vote Trump posters

As usual, the RNC is 10 years out of date, and completely clueless.

Instead of trying to buy the black vote, they should try to
sell them on the idea of voting for conservatives.

Idiocy.

Rs have never received, and will never receive Black vote. Sammy Davis Jr. got Nixon some, but that was a very different Black electorate.

For example J. C. Watts never got a majority of the black vote in his district!

I'm convinced the only way republicans could win black votes is to offer 2 packs of smokes instead of 1 like the Dems do

It would be a hell of alot cheaper then trying to edumacate them on issues...

It’s very simple.

Remember the Harrison Ford character in Mosquito Coast:

“Free Money! Free Money! Come get your Free Money!”

Dems have bought the Black vote since FDR.

If you're going to try and reach black voters, tv/radio ads ain't going to do it.

Go there and be credible about it and don't pander. Rick Snyder isn't my favorite guy, but did some work in Detroit and had a reputation as giving a damn about the city. Despite the emergency manager provisions ripped apart by black leadership, Snyder, who on paper is the worst fit for that city than anybody, did better than all other Republicans there since John Engler in 1998 when he ran against an anti-Christian bigot in Fieger. Snyder got 6.8%. Engler got 14% in 1998, but you still had the residency clause then which kept cops and firemen (among others) in the city. Snyder didn't have that benefit.

Yes, 6.8% is bad, but it is better than 2.0%, which is what Mitt Romney got, or 5% which is what Bush got.

This is a good thing.

No, going to the cities, campaigning, and treating them like adults is a good thing.

You won't get a majority, but we get 20% of the black vote, the dems will never win another election in this country.

That would flip Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, maybe Wisconsin, maybe Minnesota, maybe Illinois, and keep North Carolina out of reach, and maybe put New Jersey in play.

I think they should do all of the above. There are many black conservatives out there who vote Dem because they think they have to. That’s just wrong.

White voters are the only voters the GOP should be targeting. Every dollar spent on Black or Hispanic voters might as well be burned in a campfire.

I wonder if The Establishment will treat blacks on their show like they treat Trump - should the blacks launch into what are legitimately ‘baseless’ attacks.

...as if I don’t know the answer.
