Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was released in a prisoner exchange in Afghanistan for five Taliban detainees, wound up in the middle of a pot raid earlier this week in northern California. Captian Greg Van Patten with the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Thursday that the county’s marijuana eradication team encountered Bergdahl on Tuesday while serving a search warrant on a home in Redwood City, Calif.

WTH? Redwood City is in San Mateo County in the Bay Area, Mendocino County is in Northern California 120 miles away.
They’ve yet to open the case and the lawyers have been delaying the start of this. I think they want some negotiation phase where he admits guilt on one thing....gets a year or two...then gets released. The one charge....if I remember correctly...can only get a max of five years. The other charge....life in prison.
I would think in this case...they will drug-test Bowe within hours after he’s back in their custody. If he comes up positive....its a zero chance that he gets a regular discharge with benefits attached....even if he beats the court episode.
Just looking at this as a movie script....its a five-star script and they’ve just added another fifteen minutes with a pot-raid.

Maybe they followed a shipment of weed from a sale in Mendocino Co. and got a warrant for the house it went to.

They should have released him into the custody of the Mexican drug cartels in Humboldt County.
I knew someone that lived up their on Tomki Rd. many years ago.
He wasnt AWOL in Afghanistan...AWOL is coming back later from leave, etc. He deserted - a much more serious offense. In fact, his attorney is arguing that he was AWOL in Afghanistan, as a ploy to avoid the higher charge.
The pos has a charge with a possible life sentence and he's free to wander hither and yon?
After your information I think that they have been made aware that there is a presidential pardon in the offing.

Let him get a death sentence, and wake up every morning knowing the exact day and time America will obtain it’s revenge for this traitor.

King Obama will pardon Bergdahl.
Any “death sentence” will be meaningless.
Be a shame if something happened to Bergdahl during a raid.
