Governor’s races in South and Midwest could be lost if party brand becomes too liberal.
Centrist Democrats were wiped out in the 2014 elections and in their absence emerged a resurgent liberal movement, embodied most recently by the surprisingly competitive presidential campaign of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
But the suddenly ascendant left — its populist overtones becoming part of the mainstream Democratic pitch — is worrying Democrats who want to compete on Republican-leaning turf. The party lost every competitive gubernatorial and Senate race in the South last year. And Democrats didn’t fare much better in the heartland.
Now, as Bernie Sanders’ surge foreshadows a new burst of progressivism, moderate Democrats are looking to their counterparts in Washington with a plea: Don’t freeze us out.

“It’s important that the Democratic party be ‘big-tent,’” said Vincent Sheheen, who lost last year to South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. “So if the result of that kind of rhetoric is an antagonism toward or a hostility toward the moderate elements of the Democratic Party then yeah, it’s big trouble and big problems.”
“We’ll never take back Congress unless we can win in the South. We’ll never take back governorships unless we can win in the South,” he added.

The Democraps need to pretend they're not insane just long enough to get some votes that are not from the northeast, left coast, unions and inner cities ... then they will the national election ... and they can get on with their divinely ordained job of killing babies, flooding the country with criminals, promoting sexual perversion, gutting the military and destroying the economy!

Republicans are failed because of fear and unwillingness to say no. Some of the Beltway Republicans are complicit....I think most are just afraid.

The Republican Party, as we all would agree, has drifted a bit left, if anything, yet we are still called EXTREMISTS by the media and Democrats. Ben Carson learned that the hard way when his support of traditional marriage was labeled a “hate crime” by the left. Still being called “extremist”, when you’ve essentially given up on social issues, and now most political issues has convinced the party that they must move even further left, and, for example, show Hispanics that they can open up the border even faster than the Democrats.
The Democrat Party, on the other hand, is WAY, WAY, out to left field. Other than an occasional article like this, one would NEVER know that listening to the media.
My point is that the middle of the country, the White Vote, is WIDE OPEN for the taking. Tell the victims of Open Borders and Affirmative Action that you will address their concerns, rather than pander to minorities, and not only will Republican turnout increase, but many whites that are now voting Democrat (because they see no real difference in the parties, but Democrats always promise more handouts) might just vote Republican.
After all, that is EXACTLY what happened in 1980...whites had someone to vote for.
The left wants to destroy all opposition. It’s not enough to defeat them. For now, they just have to keep on defending the indefensible, but they would rather not have to.

Unfortunately, to most Americans, we’re considered the nutcases for pointing that out. I know that bunch too, they would JAIL US, until we’re ‘re-educated’ if they thought they could get away with it here. They’ve done it in plenty of other countries...and Al Gore has all but proposed doing it to Global Warming deniers.

Actually what we need is a Devil’s Island to re-educate conservatives so that they can actually understand just how much PURE EVIL resides in people on the left.
There have always been liberals, but this country, in the past, was able to understand them and keep them and their plans for turning this place into a dictatorship safely locked up.
That’s not the case now...now we call them “our friends on the left”. I don’t know about your friends, but I don’t have friends that want me jailed and re-educated.
The comments are all leftwing, all claiming they just need to run ‘real’ progressives in red states to win. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
