"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

Unfortunately, the way the current Senate operates, there is on party, the Washington party Some of us have already begun to understand this fact Ted. That's why we like you. You are willing to expose the Republicons.

I was feeling the same way. We seemed to have gained nothing with the Republican majority in the Senate. Something was wrong. Cruz hit the nail on the head. When you add some of the liberal Republicans and include McConnell it is no wonder.
Thank Cruz for hitting the rats in the party. Cruz for President.

If I remember correctly, McConnell has an office in Lexington. It is near the Capitol building. The grounds there are very beautiful and there is much parking. A perfect place to hold protests against McConnell. Kentuckians get of your couches!

The establishment libs are having kittens over this. Its too much fun for an old guy to handle. I think I’ll go take a nap.

Good for Cruz. The sad part is no other conservative has stepped up
to back him up.

"Unfortunately, the way the current Senate operates, there is one party, the Washington party".Whether Cruz gains any traction as a candidate or not, that statement sums up the futility of continuing to vote for and support the likes of McConnell, Cornyn, et al. they are not part of the solution; they are part of the problem.

Yeah thanks, I have seen it though.

You can be sure the RNC is already assembling a campaign to completely destroy Cruz. To them this will be unforgivable.

To the millions of Americans who rallied in November believing if only we got a Republican majority in the Senate something would be different, this was a clarifying and a sad moment. My view is that NOV 2014 will be seen as the high-water mark of the modern Republican Party.
Not only are the GOP-e content to squander the mandate they were given, they further amuse themselves by spitting on the very people that gave them majorities in both chambers of Congress.
I've been a registered Republican since I was 18. Now going on 60 and in the process of changing my registration to no party affiliation--Independent, baby!

Trumpies should keep in mind that The Donald is part of the Washington Cartel of which Ted Cruz speaks. He is all for buying influence with millions of dollars.
He is also pro-choice, pro-gay, pro-gun control, pro-amnesty, pro-BigGov. This is what we want?

Here’s the text of an email I sent to McConnell yesterday:
You lie to the Kentuckians who voted for you and you lie to your fellow republican senators. You, sir, are a liar. There’s virtually no difference between you and Harry Reid. Except that Reid doesn’t lie to his fellow democrats. Obama must be proud of you. After all, you lie as casually as Obama. You are a great disappointment. If I had it to do over again I’d vote for Alison Lundergan-Grimes just to prevent you from becoming majority leader if nothing else. If you happen to believe in a hereafter, then you should reconsider your lying ways.
