Donald Trump's Attorney Defends Him Against Ex-Wife's Rape Allegation “You can’t rape your spouse"

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may have raped his ex-wife Ivana Trump, according to a 1993 biography of the real estate mogul uncovered by The Daily Beast. Trump's attorney on Monday denied the allegation, claiming “you cannot rape your spouse.”

“You’re talking about the front-runner for the GOP, presidential candidate, as well as private individual, who never raped anybody," Michael Cohen, the Trump Organization’s special counsel, told The Daily Beast. "And, of course, understand that by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse.”

The biography, Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, by Harry Hurt III, details a 1989 incident in which Trump reportedly confronted his then-wife Ivana, pulling out clumps of her hair and sexually assaulting her. She characterized the incident as rape during the couple’s divorce proceedings in the early 1990s and said she felt “violated,” according to legal documents cited by The Daily Beast....

...Trump, a real estate mogul, has made numerous offensive comments about rape, most notably when he kicked off his presidential campaign last month and alleged that undocumented Mexican immigrants are “rapists.”

Axelrod didn’t make Trumps lawyer say something as stupid as what he said. I don’t believe the Axelrod inspired hitpiece... But Trumps lawyer shouldnt go around saying that a man can’t rape his wife.

Good to see a Republican intimidating the media. Maybe Trump could teach other Republicans this tactic so they will stop pandering to the media

first of all that makes no sense and you don’t see me crapping all over other Freeper’s candidates and certainly not Freepers themselves in thread after thread post after post.. you are not the smartest person on his board by any means and going around the internet looking for and then posting smear threads about candidates you don’t support shows it.. it’s pretty pathetic,, but that’s what you do and everybody here knows it

They didn’t have much of a problem with Hillary blaming the 6th grader for being raped by a 41 yr old man either. In fact, Hillary is heard laughing about it.
I hope someone puts those audios in a campaign ad.

Byron York: Dissing McCain not Trump's big problem in Iowa

".....If a candidate wants to make a good impression on religious voters in Iowa, he probably should not offer the answer Trump gave when moderator Frank Luntz asked whether Trump had ever asked God for forgiveness. "I am not sure I have," Trump said. "I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so. I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't."

A candidate who seeks to make a good impression should also probably refrain from describing Holy Communion in the way Trump did: "When I drink my little wine — which is about the only wine I drink — and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed. I think in terms of 'let's go on and let's make it right.'"

A senior Iowa Republican who was in the room, sitting with a group of grassroots activists as Trump spoke, was dumbfounded by the candidate's views of religion. "While there were audible groans in the crowd when Trump questioned whether McCain was a war hero," the senior Republican said via email, "it was Trump's inability to articulate any coherent relationship with God or demonstrate the role faith plays in his life that really sucked the oxygen out of the room.."

The senior Republican continued: "Milling around talking to activists in the hallways/lobby after Trump's speech, THAT is what those Iowa conservatives were discussing, not the McCain comment."

New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alan Rappeport noticed the same thing: "It was these comments, not his attack on Mr. McCain, that prompted the most muttering and unease in the audience."

Attendees told the Times that Trump's casual use of the words "damn" and "hell" made a bad impression. "I was turned off at the very start because I didn't like his language,'' one woman who had been considering supporting Trump told the paper. Admitting he never asks God's forgiveness didn't help. ''He sounds like he isn't really a born-again Christian," the woman added................

I stick to promoting my candidate - Scott Walker.

Occasionally I do go on the offensive.

Trump is a big boy; he has no problem speaking his mind, hiring lawyers.

Why the swing at me?

Do you want Trump in the White House?

What are you rambling about? We get it. You only support Perry. Perry is a good guy, but he's in the bottom tier. Get over it.

“Good to see a Republican intimidating the media. Maybe Trump could teach other Republicans this tactic so they will stop pandering to the media”

Exactly. This “attack” tactic completely changes the narrative. The old school of thought is complete panic over a statement such as this. However, I’m sure this isn’t even a blip on the radar for a fighter. Most GOP candidates would defensively try to explain and explain their “definition” over and over (for weeks on end) until they become unintelligible.

On the other hand (and in this case), there are multiple outs. The atty could say that there isn’t a rape if there is no accusation of rape (which fits this case). Also, the atty can keep attacking by saying that this was an attempt to libel his client and keep pushing the litigation angle.

Conversely, DT could say he doesn’t like what his atty is saying or the article. He could fire the atty and still threaten litigation and come out remaining a fighter.

Well democrats don’t attack each other like we do. It’s pathetic the way the GOPe, GOPe pundits, fellow Freepers, etc. are so quick to condemn our own unlike the Democrats.

Maybe your candidate needs to hire a better campaign spokesperson than Alleigh Marre.
