MADISON (AP) -- Newly released documents show Gov. Scott Walker's office was involved in drafting legislation to overhaul Wisconsin's open records law and keep some government materials secret.

Republicans on the Legislature's budget committee passed a measure earlier this month that would have shielded many documents created by state government officials from the open records law, including drafts of legislation and staff communications. Republicans quickly backed off after a fierce backlash from outraged lawmakers from both parties and open government advocates.

As compared to the nonexistent coverage of Obama secret dealings and withholding of gov’t records?

Are we looking at making Mr. Obama the Republican nominee next year?

Some have already expressed this thought, but with Hillary Clinton and Obama refusing to provide records or Nuclear arms agreements, WTH is Scott Walker’s record suddenly important on these matters for?

I know of one record the press hasn’t give one thought to, and that’s the illegitimate birth records of this illegitimate _resident, or was that pres__nt? Can’t remember.

Perhaps if we had a that document we could nail that down.

Attack the right, cover for the left. The game doesn’t change.

I’m truly unable to understand why Walker is polling such high numbers! He might be a fiscal Conservative in his State (although WI is in red numbers financially), but he’s not Conservative on any other issues. ....I hope he’s gone from the race fairly early, along with Graham, Huck, Rubio, Paul and many others.

Government secrecy is a leftist position. Attacking someone who supports it is not attacking a conservative.

Maybe that is because you are an ill-informed FReeper

First, Walker has a budget surplus.

Walker cut taxes

Walker signed concealed carry

Walker cut all funding to Planned Parenthood

Walker outlawed in-state tuition for illegals

Walker eliminated Common Core from the state mandates

Walker passed Voter ID

Walker passed drug testing for welfare recipients

Walker passed "Castle Doctrine"

Walker funded new Milwaukee stadium with no cost or risk to taxpayers

Walker refused to expand Medicaid

Walker made Wisconsin a "Right to Work" state

“WTH is Scott Walker’s record suddenly important on these matters for?”..........

Pretty simple answers to that one. First, he has a good chance of winning the presidency. Second, he is a republican and third, destroying your competition is what demodummies and the media do.

Pointing the finger at someone else takes the microscope off of YOUR OWN wrongdoing, definitely a demodummie tactic.

Actually, in this instance it just magnifies your own problem.

Taking others to task on a subject your guy is flunking doesn’t make your guy look better. It proves you think he’s a skunk too.

If the other side is corrupt to do something, then you have just admitted your guy is too.

Mean to include an acknowledgement that the “they all do it” defense is certainly at play here.
