California website takes anonymous water waste tips in drought
Press Democrat ^ | 31 July 2015

SACRAMENTO — California is launching a state website that lets residents tattle on water wasters, from neighbors with leaky sprinklers to waiters who serve water without asking.

California has multiple restrictions on water use, including banning washing cars with hoses that don't shut off and restricting lawn-watering within two days of rainfall. But enforcement varies widely across the parched state.

Residents can send details and photos of water waste at www.savewater.ca.gov . Complaints are then sent to local government agencies based on the address of the offense.

The site went online Thursday as the latest conservation initiative. More than 300 agencies have signed up to see the details of water waste tips. Many local agencies already had their own reporting sites.

Tipsters wary of being outed as the neighborhood snitch can remain anonymous.

I think the site also lists contact numbers for the Stasi, the Gestapo, and the KGB and offers a discount on your government mandated health care when turning in friends and neighbors. I believe for every ten people you turn in you get a season pass to the fair.

Nah, fairs can be fun, so they’ll be looking for an excuse to shut them down. Maybe an abortion voucher or something.

Can I report my neighbor’s daughter who is working for cash and drawing welfare for herself and two kids while living with a guy with a good job?

Be careful with rain runoff. The EPA has a say on it:

Sounds just like our water dept. I called when our house was flooding. Took their sweet time getting here.....spent about 30 minutes digging the valve turn-off and meter from underneath 8” of soil. Meanwhile.....there was a geyser in my house.

My question: How the h3ll were they reading the meter all those months?

A lot of the meters call home to report themselves. Also keep track of when you are using water, useful in finding violators who are watering on the wrong day.

Well done comrads. Create an unecessary crises because of left wing lunacy and instead of helping you want tattle-tales.

Typical marxist pigs. Only an idiot would stay in CA and I know because one of my brothers is a left wing loon that still lives there.

Yeah . . and once a week is often enough for a shower. The rest of the week, take sponge baths in the lavatory & washeth what stinketh. Grain vinegar makes a good deodorant.
