Lobbyists and career politicians today make up what I call the Washington Cartel.
[They] on a daily basis are conspiring against the American people.
[C]areer politicians ears and wallets are open to the highest bidder. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in 2015.

The defining moment of the debate will be if someone calls out the big-money corruption of government by name.

Starting with politicians from both sides of the aisle.
It's just one big gravy train. No wonder uniparty fights so ferociously when someone stands in the way.

Term Limits is a great start to ridding ourselves of the corruption.
House 2 yrs. 4 terms
Senate 6 yrs. 2 terms
Court 10 yrs. 1 term total at all levels.
To: Eternally-Optimistic
- House: 4 three-year terms
- Senate: Single 12-year term (Rotating, 25 seats up for re-election every 3 years)
- President: 2 six-year terms
- SCOTUS: Rotating single 12-year term (Three SCOTUS members would be up for appointments every 3 years).

sorry but there's no way in hell America could take 12 years of Obama.

Term Limits is a great start to ridding ourselves of the corruption.
It is the essential first step.
Complete transparency of lobbyist-legislator relationships and post-government employment of legislators are next.

The only ones that doesn’t dare call these career politicians what they really are, they are “SPINELESS WHORES”, is someone in Washington, and the sooner they are called that, the better this country will be. But finding someone to do this will be be like looking for a needle in the haystack. Maybe it will take someone like Trump to do this, I don’t know, but we sure need one with enough balls to say this.

Both Cruz and Trump have shown some spine in this regard. We'll see if they have the right stuff soon.

Quite true, but that brings on a whole new set of problems. I'm not saying it will never be necessary.

I think the president should be one 6 year term as well.

If the vote for term limits were put to the people it would pass overwhelmingly. How does this get done?

12 years us way too much for any president.

Exactly my point.....we don't need a Politician to run this country....we need a businessman to run this country...
Trump is one of the best businessmen there is...he makes millions...he buys, sells, barters, and makes money...
He wants to run this Country as a business to get it out of debt, to get trade coming back into here, and yet people are so stupid they can't see beyond their noses...
How many politicians have run this country???? and how's that working out for you now?????
Get off Trump and Cruz's back, and let them prove to you minions that there is life after obuma....

No, politicians, you, as men and women, are destroying America.
Guns don't shoot people, Money and Bribes don't corrupt governments and countries.
People kill people, and politicians, people, corrupt countries
The difference is that dead people usually don't vote for the gunmen to shoot them, where as dead countries were there loading the bullets.
Incidentally, I whipped it up with a neighbor liberal (redundant, alas) yesterday on a number of topics. Psychology Masters degree this one. When I explained to her the notion of 'conservatism' meaning 'conserving the Constitution', she later tried to use that against me to prove that all illegals have a right to be here and have citizenship, because it says in the Constitution that 'that all people have the right to be in America and pursue happiness.'
I would call that an invitation to demise. Don't they teach psychologists about codependence and boundaries?

Good question. Only congress can enact it, and it would put a quit to their personal gravy train. It will take, IMHO, an explosive public outcry led by a person like Cruz to make it happen.

Now is the time for an amendment to the Constitution calling
for term limits! In fact, it’s past time.
