Rick Perry Gets A Second Shot at the Question That Stumped Him
National Review ^ | 08/04/2015 | Alexis Levinson

Manchester, N.H. — Rick Perry got a second shot at answering the question that derailed his 2012 presidential campaign Monday night.

Speaking at a candidate forum here at St. Anselm’s College, Perry was asked: “Specifically, what agencies would you either eliminate or cut?”

”I’ve heard this question before,” Perry cracked, to laughter. He has indeed.

The question infamously stumped him in a debate in 2011, when he listed two agencies and then appeared to forget the third. The “oops” that followed did as much as anything else to sink his White House bid that cycle.

This time, Perry did not lose track of his thoughts halfway through his answer. . . .

"We have to cut spending. And I know a little bit about cutting spending. We had a $10 million budget shortfall in my state in 2003, and we went in there and we made those cuts . . . We cut that $10 million out of our budget, we cut our regulatory climate down, we made it fair, we made it predictable, and the result of that was health care that exploded across the state of Texas. And we had the access to health care. And two years later [when] we went into session . . . we had [an] $8 million budget surplus. That’s what you can do in this country. I believe in this country."

But he did not mention a single government agency, either.

One would think that value is diminishing with the ever-expanding number of GOP candidates, at least.

That’s assuming that lobbyists and crony capitalists are a fixed number. That assuredly isn’t the case, they must also be growing exponentially. At least until the gravy train derails.

But he did not mention a single government agency, either.

Therein lies the difference between career (criminal) politicians, and Donald Trump.

NO PANDERING, EQUIVOCATION, OR CHANGING THE SUBJECT!

Bureaucrats, Union members, and general deadwood (all presumed to be citizens,) but I repeat myself, also get a vote!

So don't expect to get a straight answer from the regular professional (criminal) politicians.

Finally, the Department of Defense will be renamed back to the Department of War. Need to give those fellows a hint as to what their job actually is.

What are you suggesting, dammit!?

That perhaps Political Correctness tends to fog the brain, obscures the fundamental purpose of things, and enables the unrestrained multiplication of EVERY FREAKING DEPARTMENT AND AGENCY AND BUREAUCRACY IN THE FREAKING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

Is that it?

Crony Capitalism = RICO Criminal takeover of a carefully thought out Constitutional Republic, 17 years in the making; Destroyed in 20.

Thank you, First Rapist Clinton...
Thank you duplicitous, perjurer PIAPS.
Thank you, Barack Hussein.

Maybe.

I was thinking more along the lines of you don’t win wars by defending anything. You win wars by destroying the the other side’s ability and will to fight. That should be kept foremost in the minds of everyone in the military from the SecDef, er, SecWar to the lowest Recruit Private.
