Erick Erickson Disinvites Trump From Red State Gathering Over Megyn Kelly Insults
The Daily Caller ^ | Saturday, August 8, 2015 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 08/07/2015 10:46:29 PM PDT by kristinn

Red State’s Erick Erickson dis-invited GOP presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump after he insulted Fox News anchor and Thursday night’s debate moderator Megyn Kelly during a CNN interview Friday night.

I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far — Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 8, 2015

“Well I just don’t respect her as a journalist. I have no respect for her. I think she’s highly overrated. But when I came out there what was I doing I’m not getting paid for this. I go out there. And you know they start saying lift up. And you know I didn’t know there would be 24 million people I figured but I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I get big crowds I get ratings they call me the ratings machine so I have you know she she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions,” Trump said to CNN’s Don Lemon.

He went further saying, “And you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes blood coming out of her — whatever. She was in my opinion — she was off-base. And by the way, not in my opinion, in the opinion of hundreds of thousands of people on Twitter because it has been a brutal day. In one way a great day for Fox. in another day in the Twitter sphere it’s been very bad because she’s been very badly criticized. She’s a lightweight. I couldn’t care less about her.”

>>I honestly after listening to that can make absolutely no comment about how Trump might have finished that sentence.

Yep. Trump then used the same euphemism — “blood coming out of his eyes” — referring to Chris Wallace.

So, the association Erickson made originated in ERICKSON’s tiny little brain.

But, little facts like those have little sway upon the McSheeple who make Fauxnews relevant to begin with.

"Looking at the second part of the quote I see no definitive indication what he meant to say."

If you take the time to listen to the audio from the exchange, it's completely absurd to make the leap.

I just read that Carly Fiorina tweeted “I stand with Megyn Kelly”

Well, she’s off the list now, too.

Good interview. Trump being Trump.

What is it it about a man being a man and Trump being Trump? You could say it is per se unpolitical correct when a man decides to h*ll with all the b*ll sh*t and I’m going to be who I am. It says a lot about how far popular culture has gone down the road to eviscerating masculinity and manhood, not to mention eviscerating the true, soft qualities of womanhood.

Trump being Trump is per se a slap in the face to political correctness. I love every minute of it.

Exactly. He completely lost his words. And he didn’t laugh or giggle. The host, Don Lemon, a liberal, didn’t notice either. Total bag job.

I think Wallace was OTR also. He always is. So is Kelly.

Erickson has been told to get each and every candidate on the record whether they stand with Megyn Kelly or Trump. FOX News personalities even started a #StandWithMegyn hashtag

This is like nothing I have ever seen.

Erickson imagined something and went with it without facts, evidence, anything. It’s truly absurd.

He made up something to be politically correct about.

It is so.....weak.

Erickson ingratiated himself with the GOPe by doing this to Trump. This folks is how media gets access to Politicos. He wants to expand the Redstate brand by getting access to those politicians (especially if the GOPe pick is the president) I used to like his thinking on politics but his principles are questionable at best.

PIP has become an acceptable and common practice to get rid of the "black horse" employee that is typically high-skilled and highly productive, thus at odds with a team of mostly mediocre members (including the manager) and hard to terminate based on pure work performance.

Trump’s response was he doesn’t know Fiorina, thinks maybe she is nice, had a brutal time at the end of her HP stint, and won’t win.

I see a possible Trump-Fiorina gunfight coming. I don’t think Fiorina will win. To me, it’s time for the womens’ “trump” card of winning the argument becasue she’s a woman needs to be gone. I hope it does. Trump may help with that.

It’s amazing. They’re making this up. They’ve got no evidence for it.

Kelly was out of line in the debate. She got slammed on it on her tweet, email, whatever....and now they’re trying to ‘fix her’.

(For the record, when I used “whatever’ above, I wasn’t referencing the word vagina. When I said “fix her” I wasn’t referencing sterilization.)

Fiorina and the other candidates need to be careful. They might ingratiate Fox but PO an awful lot of voters.

I totally agree. Ad hominem attacks don’t impress me at all. If you want to disagree, disagree on the issues. Personal attacks have no place in Presidential primary politics, in my opinion. And I think it was a fair question to ask Trump, given that approx 50% of the electorate is female and we need to pull them in to win this next election — which is absolutely necessary after the mess of the past 8 years.
