nice try

There is no try. Hardcore Trumpsters are caught up in "the Donald" as some kind of cult of personality. Nothing matters to them. He could offer a massive tax plan, single payer healthcare and huge tariffs and it wouldn't matter to the hard core Trumpsters.

There are however people still making up their minds, and many of them are not going to settle on a guy who blusters about making Mexico pay for a wall despite the fact he has no actual plan for making this happen. In the end, it isn't good enough for him to crow about how great he is - eventually people will want to know "how" he is going to do all this wonderful stuff. So far, he has no answers other than to tell us again how great he is.

Not sure what the Rand Paul stuff is about. I am not a Paul supporter - too much like his Dad imo. However, if he wins the GOP nomination I'd vote for him in the general (as I would do if Trump won the GOP nomination even though I consider him a con man).

Well, large tariffs and protectionist policies would win over Democrats in Congress, but not Republicans. I mean, whenever we get to specifics with Trump it seems to be some vague protectionist polices that would put a smile on Bernie Sanders face along with big labor unions.

Now we're debating policy rather than leveling ad hominem attacks at one another...that's a step in the right direction. And we DO have specifics about Trump so long as we bother to look and not rely on the media to report them.

I would recommend all at FNC involved in the debate fiasco be called into a board meeting. Then have The Donald walk in the room.

I flipped all the way thru this thread and didn't see the "Lucy-holding-the-football-for Charlie-Brown" pic. I figgered that to be a natural for this thread.

Our electoral process has been turned into a Jerry Springer-esque rude-o-rama and adopted the social media mindset.
It's already very tedious.

Well then, according to the number of people on her facebook page that were saying they were done with her, Ailes better get his checkbook ready. I won’t be able to stomach watching her for a while, if ever.

“It really only matters if the people who have Nielsen trackers on their TVs tune out.”

Surely you jest? Do those exist anymore? I was under the impression they knew every channel change we made if you have satellite or cable. Anyone that only uses an antennae wouldn’t have seen the debate anyway. At least not on their tv.

“Originally, these meters identified the frequency of the channels - VHF or UHF - watched on the viewer’s TV set. This system became obsolete when Direct to Home (DTH) satellite dish became popular and viewers started to get their own satellite decoders. In addition, this system doesn’t measure digital broadcasts.”

So, if I am reading this correctly, the meters are only for VHF or UHF? Any one with just an antennae couldn’t have seen the debate since it was only on Fox, correct?

People without cable or satellite would not have been able to watch the debate on their TV in most cases.

“...the Democrats are laughing at the GOP.”

They only wish they had something about which to laugh. And they are in their own bind. Hillary is running scared. Before it’s over one or more of the scandals will bring her down. And this has the Dems really afraid. The others in the race want debates. She doesn’t...debates on issues scare the hell out of her. And with all the uncertainty surround her, Fearless Joe Biden is likely to come back from his vacation and announce his own candidacy. When he does that, you know he has Barry’s ok to go after Hillary. Reince Priebus has already hailed Biden ‘far more likable’ than Hillary.

It will be so bad that the Don could win as a third party candidate...but he won’t have to do that...he will be the Pubbie nominee. And the king-makers in the GOPe will resort to gnashing teeth...that includes Priebus, Rove and a few others, including Daddy Bush. The do not care if Jeb is the candidate and loses, that just do not want Trump to be the candidate and win.

He can do both at the same time. His problem is that he just became a conservative. That’s why conservatives don’t trust him. I mentioned him as vp with Cruz as prez in Feb. 2014 and that probably gave him the idea. I found it about a month ago through Google but now it’s gone—too many results on any hit of “Trump.” Or else I just like thinking I have an effect on the real world LOL.
