Because they can’t leave anything alone because they have a bottomless pit of our money to screw around with.

and their obligation to this responsibility is what?

To kneel before the current BP CEO, place a kiss squarely on his or her a$$, immediately cut the "fine" imposed on BP for the gulf spill, and beg the forgiveness of BP, the fine citizens of Colorado and New Mexico, and the rest of America.

The western half certainly is. Most is designated as a large predator corridor in agenda 21. BLM, USF&W, USFS, etc. have been actively trying to seal off large areas from human contact since the '70s. Locally, it's been black-footed ferrets, feral horses, and lately sage grouse. If you look at a recent map you wouldn't think you couldn't get there from here. Open up a 30 or 40 year old map and there are roads all over their proposed "roadless" areas. It's as if they just randomly erase sections of roads each printing.

True story. When billy blythe clinton designated Grand Escalante off limits to coal development, he wanted to make the announcement in my community. Everyone was convinced he was going to cut off a Delaware-sized section of the county as a new wilderness area, closing off enough coal, natural gas, oil, and uranium to power the western half of the county for decades. The undersherrif spoke with the secret service and told them there was a strong anti-government sentiment in the community. He must have added a few specifics (which I leave to your imagination) because the bent one went to Aspen instead. Not a total loss because his motorcade had to run a gamut of the Tyranny Response Team and FReepers to get out of the airport.
