Remember how Jimmy Carter talked about discussions with his daughter Amy where she said Nuclear Weapons were a huge concern for young people? It was during his debate with Ronald Reagan.
Jimmy was more presidential than Hillary!
Student loans were dischargeable in bankruptcy prior to 1976. With the introduction of the US Bankruptcy Code (11 USC 101 et seq) in 1978, the ability to discharge education loans was limited. Subsequent changes in the law have further narrowed the dischargeability of education debt.
The exception to discharge for private student loans evolved over time. Prior to 1984, only private student loans made by a “nonprofit institution of higher education” were excepted from discharge.

If the government is paying for it, the price is going to be jacked way way up.
$800 hammers.
No kidding! roflol...
Besides, if you take out a student loan, you are expected to pay it back or don’t take it out! Duh, how hard is that. There are plenty of scholarships available if you work hard enough.
Every graduate in our town is promised a college education paid for by Murphy Oil Corp. (the ‘evil’ oil company) Yet, still some of these students manage to ruin it by screwing around instead of studying and lose it.
There are many others just like this around the country.

The El Dorado Promise is a unique scholarship program funded by Murphy Oil Corporation. The Promise provides graduates of El Dorado High School a tuition scholarship that can be used at any accredited Arkansas public university or community college, or any accredited private or out-of-state university. For more information visit: www.eldoradopromise.com.
Murphy has historically allocated the majority of its contributions to educational institutions and programs. Through its Murphy Lecture Series, high school and college students in the South Arkansas area are exposed to nationally recognized speakers.
The Murphy Education Program, established in 1997 by Claiborne P. Deming, former President and CEO of Murphy Oil Corporation, is designed to promote academic excellence in the El Dorado, Arkansas public school system. The Murphy Education Program presents monetary awards to students in the 1st, 4th, 6th and 8th grades who make qualifying scores on their annual Benchmark exams and to El Dorado High School students for their AP, ACT, and SAT test scores. Since its inception, over $2.1 million has been paid to students winning over 11,000 awards.
You're like a radio station that only has 100 oldies played in heavy rotation for 20 years.
So is that old fashioned way the feminists used to say “woyoemeaingnnnnunn” in that screech owl manner that I haven't heard for 30 years, except from you. The face must use every single muscle in it (and a few from other places) to say the word we normal folks know as “women”.
HAHAHA!
That’s the *only* one you need!
Any one who uses emojis should be killed.
The world would be a better place. :-)
Thanks for the clarification. Am I correct in believing that there is no longer any such thing as a ‘private’ student loan, which occurred under Obama?
I have done loans for my daughter’s college direct from our bank, specific for college tuition, paid directly to the college.
well, there you go. Thanks.
