On the economy, Donald Trump sounds like Nancy Pelosi
marketwatch ^ | Aug 14, 2015 | Paul Brandus

...Trump said “We don’t win anymore…we don’t do anything right.” And yet, if we’re losing and can’t beat anybody, as he claims, then why is the rest of the world so confident about the U.S. and eager to come here and do business? Don’t take it from me: just read the AT Kearney survey of global business executives, which says—for the third year in a row—that the United States has the world’s best macroeconomic outlook— better than anywhere else, including China and Mexico, two countries he claims are eating our lunch.

Another study shows those executives putting their money where their mouth is. International firms poured $236 billon into the United States in 2013...

[snip]

This kind of simplistic bumper-sticker talk goes over well with folks who apparently don’t want to think for themselves...

[snip]

That Trump talks in broad terms with little to no policy detail (“I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created”) is a rap against him, but then again, political candidates are generally advised to avoid specifics that may be picked apart and cost votes later on. More seasoned politicians like Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton have already fallen into this trap; is Trump politically savvier than them? No, his campaign—new, understaffed and disorganized—is just out of the gate, and he’ll make similar mistakes soon enough.

But another reason Trump hasn’t talked all that much about his ideas is because they’re not, well, conservative enough. “I’m a free trader,” he claims, yet...

[snip]

He’s a protectionist in free-trader clothes, a stance that squarely aligns him with labor unions, environmentalists and big-city liberals like Nancy Pelosi. That’s hardly the way to win the backing of the Republican party, now, is it?...

All I’m telling you is Trump can’t deliver what he is telling you. Any of it.

Some people seem to think that if you shout down the questions it makes the opposition disappear. It doesn’t.
Its how we vet candidates and refusing to do so seldom ends without disastrous consequences.

Democrats do this to themselves all the time. It led to the surefire win for John Kerry in 04 turning into shocked defeat.

He’s a protectionist in free-trader clothes,

I haven't heard him mention tariffs and such except as punitive action against those who will not deal fairly with us.

That's "protectionist?"

I didn’t ask about Trump. I speculated if you were a “Lesser Eviler” GOPe squish-bot.

I’d rather be protectionist than continue to give America away to out sworn enemies!

Yes, she didn’t give in like Boehner does. What has he done for the country? She had a hand in destroying it, but, I mean that she had a spine of steel -unlike cry baby Boehner. Name his accomplishments.

Some people seem to think that if you shout down the questions it makes the opposition disappear.

And some people ask loaded questions, then complain they didn't get an answer, because the answer they got didn't go along with their premise.

So, Jeff Sessions is wasting his time?

I don’t mean to single you out, but you can’t distinguish between King Donald’s rhetoric and reality.

Sessions serves on the judiciary committee and on the immigration sub-committee so he has that influence, but he is not the chairman of either committee.

The fact that Trump would need help on such an issue should concern you. The rest of us have been thinking about this for decades.

Maybe Sessions should get into the race. At least we know where he stands.

reality says that a guy who built himself a business empire worth tens of billions can get a lot of things done people didn’t think possible.. I have been watching this man for 30 years brag about doing this and doing that and he has pulled off almost all of it.. one way or another he would get it done

Does sessions have legislation that he is sponsoring, and if so who might the co-sponsors and co-signers be?

He's not a member of the gang of 8.

Immigration is part of foreign policy so the senate has the prerogative, but the house has to be involved in the law enforcement and appropriation components of immigration.

Presidents don't sponsor legislation but they can get their allies to.

That immigration plan released yesterday - 80% of that could be done simply with enforcement of current law and current appropriations. An executive branch on the side of the American people rather than against it, would go a long, long, way. That’s not “Any of it” as you said.

I cannot stand Pelosi, she’s an outright commie.

But she has leadership skills Boner could never ever match.

She is loyal to her party and it’s goals. Boner is a back stabber.

She stood up to the supposed opposition. Boner caves in whenever possible.

She stands firm, always iron-willed. Boner just balls like a baby.

“The fact that Trump would need help on such an issue should concern you.”

Nah, the oppostie is true. Trump, or any leader, not asking for help in a given area would concern me.

“The rest of us have been thinking about this for decades.”

And where has it gotten us? Most of the candidates running are the same ones who have been ineffective at fixing ANYTHING? Its like a defective gene pool? We have lost almost EVERY battle!?!
So, why would i choose from the same defective gene pool?

A president, including Trump, does not have the authority to eliminate due process, birth right citizenship, or seize assets/money transfers.

King Donald is blowing smoke up your ass.

So how is Trump going to do all these grand things? Will it be by decree like Obama?

How will a Ted Cruz or anyone accomplish anything?
I would say unbashedly standing by the USC and the US of A. Seeking out the greatest minds but more importantly ACHEIVERS? Men of ACCOMPLISHMENTS as well as ACTION. Shaming the media, or whoever, publically if necessary? Going over their heads and appealing to the American people?
And having a good time doing it. :)
