He was against the Iraq war because he said it would lead to destabilization so I think he would agree with you.

Our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Seamen should never be used as a paid mercenary force.

That's not what he said. It's pretty obvious he meant we should charge our allies for protection or intervention on their behalf: not hire out the U.S. Military

We certainly agree that Trump like nearly everyone on the left and the right hate Obamacare and wants to repeal it.

However:

The right wants to return to a free market system.

The left still wants socialist single payer healthcare where all medical care is free and paid for by the government.

I have not seen a single article or interview where Trump has stated he no longer wants “single payer”

Apparently you don’t listen to Trump’s public interviews before posting. He plainly says he wants private health insurance purchased across state lines and a safety net for those who are too poor to purchase insurance.

Donald Trump has reiterated several times that he does not think single payer insurance will work in the US> At one time he did but not anymore.

So he endorsed Romney. So what? I and most people on this forum voted for that squish. Does it really tell you everything you want to know about the politics of FR?

Gimme a break, nearly every conservative endorsed Romney back in 2012.

Well .. I voted for Mitt too .. does that make me a “moderate” ..?? NOT ON YOUR LIFE.

Unlike a lot of Repubs, I ALWAYS VOTE .. because the alternative is to abdicate my responsibility as a citizen .. and besides .. it allows the DemocRATS to win with NO OPPOSITION.

Voting for Mitt did not change my being a conservative. I would have preferred a different candidate .. but I can’t help but wonder how much different our country would have been with Mitt in the WH, versus the white hating, Jew hating, black excusing person we have.

And, if you think it’s bad now, try thinking about what he might do in the last year of his reign .. I expect he will pull out all the stops .. SINCE HE’S HAD LITTLE TO NO PUSH-BACK FROM ANYBODY IN CONGRESS. Hold on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

I’m told Santorum is disqualified for endorsing Specter, but Trump gets a pass on endorsing Romney?

Yes, Romney wasn't Specter.

I agree. But the US should never have left Iraq without the installation of an American forward operating base. Good lord, we still have troops in Korea and Europe.

I agree, that was my take on what he really meant to say, and I have no problem with plunder if we are truly forced into military action.

The following has zero to do with this tread topic.

Maybe my Viking ancestors would be disappointed, but I don't favor pillage.

Rape, plunder, and pillage is a nice slogan.

However, it takes longer for a society to recover after a pillaging. A quicker recover means less time before going back to rape and plunder again.

We shouldn't have troops in Europe. Bring V Corp home and give the CG the following mission: "Secure the Southern Border against Invasion."

Exactly. After 70 years it’s either time we get out of Korea and Japan, or get something in return.

I have been saying “Bring our troops home” since the wall came down.

I endorsed Mitt Romney three years ago! Try to find anything among the hundreds of Conservative articles at my Web Site that would offend Washington, Jefferson, Madison or their contemporaries, and I will then agree that maybe I made a tactical mistake.

I last supported any legislation that increased the power of the Federal Government over the citizenry in Junior High School. Make something out it, if you can.

Why didn’t you watch Trump’s one hour interview with Chris Cuomo on CNN the other night and it was re-run last night? Maybe you could get the correct information by just watching the millions of interviews Trumps gives every week where he says over and over ad nauseum he wants personal private insurance policies purchased over state lines and a safety net for those who cannot afford it.

There’s this thing called You Tube where you can go and watch all of Trump’s interviews. :-)

Full quote from Trump: “As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you’re talking about here. What I’d like to see is a private system without the artificial lines around every state.”

I truly believe he can change things around. He is not articulate, and could get so much more across if he had that skill, but he makes up for it with action.

He comes across as vain and pompous, but it is his way of selling himself....not with empty promises, but with a proven ability to get things done. He is not running for president for his ego....it is because he knows he can fix this country. Like all of us, he has been agonizing about what he can do to stop this carnage caused by the politicians and Obama in particular. He has decided to take action, and I respect him for that.

He is the answer for so many who are sick and tired of career politicians. I am hoping he can win over enough democrats to sweep the election. While we have other excellent Republicans running, I am not sure they can sweep the country like he can at this time.

It won't take long for the Donald to get things rolling, and I am convinced that he will indeed do what is needed to get this country back on track. His motto is to make America great again. When he wins, the first thing he should say is, “Let's get to work!” That is something Americans have not heard in a very long time.

If you create a litmus test, where you cannot support anyone unless you & they agree on all major issues, at all moments in time; it is unlikely that you will ever find a candidate that you can support. Trump’s thinking is still evolving. But if you look at the most basic issues, with respect to the preservation of the traditional cultures of our States, he has it right on most of the issues, already. And we are almost six months away from having to commit to any candidate.
