The system on the Hill is run by K Street and CoC, I’m afraid. No conservative can work and buck all that corruption at the same time. There are no rewards for justice or for those who seek honest representation of the people who sent them there, but plenty of headaches and arm twisting.

Great post. Deserves it's own thread.
Just got done watching the Iowa press conference and Trump just gets better and better. It's astonishing how he just stands up there and lets anybody at all ask questions. I don't see much of this with any other candidate. I think Trump has already taken more questions from the press than all the other candidates combined (and there are over 20 of them).
He's quickly getting to the point where nobody is going to be able to trip him up.

SE Mom, Trump hits on all points from our frustration with our government to the media! Plain and simple! He makes us all think! What does the billionaire need to run for president! Well his answer is because the leaders of this country and our elected reps have failed us/Americans and it's time for a smart negotiator to stop this and put You and me as Americans first! I admit, I like his no nonsense attitude,be it brusque or obnoxious! I'm tired of the promises of my choice that always yield...LEFT!

Not even. I am a dedicated FReeper who’s hoping Trump is for real but have my guard up at the same time. I remember watching an Arnold Schwarzenegger speech, thinking “Wow, how Reaganesque!” then.. In practice, ONE GIANT THUD as Governor of Kalifornia.

And I appreciate that. Schwatzenegger did manage a pension reform, but had 100% opposition from his state legislature. You wonder which would be worse for Prez Trump, a Dem majority in House/Senate . . . Or a Republican majority?
