Why people who voted for Obama twice are suddenly in love with Donald Trump

He voted twice for President Barack Obama. He watches as Donald Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, berates the president on a near-daily basis.

And yet, he's considering voting for Donald Trump.

"He has a history of getting the job done. We need someone as president who can get the job done, and I feel that he’s not afraid to take on the challenges," he said.

Another panelist who said she had voted for Obama twice said she was impressed with Trump's bravado from the start. She made note of him fighting back when numerous businesses and corporations cut ties with him amid backlash over controversial remarks on immigration.

"He’s not afraid. He doesn’t show fear. He doesn’t show that it’s going to look bad. I mean, even when Macy’s and … NBC fired him, it didn’t tarnish his strength. It didn’t make him feel like, ’Oh, I got canned or I got fired,’ or whatever," the panelist said.

I’ve made my prediction.

He’s running against 16 other people, and he’s got 35-40% with his next competitor in the 13% neighborhood.

Yes I did have a lower figure earlier 40%.

I did raise it to 80%, because I don’t really care what the figures were in previous campaign seasons.

There’s something about Trump. His support is strong amongst just about every demographic.

Nobody in the field is going to suddenly catch fire.

I can’t think of a single person that could come in and bump Trump.

For that reason, I think he’s in the lead for the long haul.

We’re going to be in the first of next year very quickly. Trumps been in the face for several months now, and it seems like just a few weeks.

Primarie’s will be on us a lot quicker than it seems like.

Its likely that the idiots who voted for Obama, twice, will not vote for Trump. They will not vote at all this time around. Which is good as a vote for Trump if he is the nom. because it take a vote away from a dimwad.

There's a certain portion of the population that wants a strongman, whatever he stands for. I'm guessing that it gives these people a sense of security. They might also feel comfortable handing over "political stuff" to someone else.

I also believe that part of this tendency comes from an unhealthy habit of acquiescing to authority, developed from years of schooling.

Mankind yearns for leaders who exuded power. Trump does unlike any recent politician. Humans follow alpha males.

If you’re right, President Trump will be good for the nation.

If I’m right, the nation will be spared from the debacle of a Trump presidency.

It’s almost a win-win...

Thanks for the discussion.

Romney was a liberal. Trump is not. If he draws some Obama voters that’s great. He’s drawing more blacks than any Republican in the past. He’s drawing Hispanic votes. He’s drawing Reagan Democrats.

You’re candidate can’t even get double digit support from Republicans. But you think somehow if Trump got out of the way, he’d be able to win the general election. You’re dreaming. Trump is the better candidate for reasons I’ve posted many many times. But the polls indicate that too.
