Can Trump Round Up 20 Million Illegals?
American Thinker ^ | 08/27/2015 | Monte Kuligowski

Donald Trump recently appeared on Bill O’Reilly’s show and was presented with an emotive scenario intended to bring Trump into the quandary of the establishment.

In context of rounding up illegals for deportation, Mr. Trump was asked about the families. What about the undocumented people living in our country, working hard and raising children? Is Trump going to bust into every home Janet Reno-style and drag families, kids and all, to the southern border?

This scenario creates quite the image and will be used repeatedly by the press to show just how unworkable, unfair, and heartless Trump’s idea really is.

Trump’s response to the scenario was: if we are to have a country, we have to enforce our laws, and the “good” people will be fast-tracked back into our country with legal status.

The first half of Trump’s response is great – we have to enforce our laws. But for Trump and the GOP candidates who are taking a “hardline” stance on those who have broken our laws and disregarded our sovereignty, I would like to take the emotion out of this scenario and present a laconic response for the candidates.

First, under O’Reilly’s lachrymose scenario, the issue of anchor baby citizenship comes to the fore.

It’s axiomatic that the insane policy of granting U.S. citizenship to the offspring of illegal alien parents must be ended (and the 14th Amendment doesn’t need to be amended to stop it – but that’s another article).

So the unasked and unanswered question is: if the policy of indiscriminate birthright citizenship is ended, should children already afforded citizenship be allowed to keep their status? In other words, should they be grandfathered in? Should United States law state that going forward, citizenship will not be awarded to the offspring of illegal resident parents?

Yup!! Using several different actions. The employers, the money heading south, active arrests, increased border security with shoot-to-kill orders on any fire received from the south side, drones, etc. The problem will “solve itself” pronto!!

Can’t we get off the Democrat talking point of deporting 20 million illegals. JUST CLOSE THE CANDY STORE AND THEY WILL LEAVE. Period end of conversation. Remember what happened in Oklahoma, THEY LEFT!

Don't forget that this mess compounded under bush's reign. We knew he was a globalist even before we put him into office for a second term. And our current Mongrel-In-Chief is simply carrying on the tradition.

The UN (two years ago?) admitted it could not bring third world countries to first world status, so they decided to bring first world countries to third world status. I guess they're succeeding.

4) End benefits to illegal aliens. No welfare, no government school, no in-state tuition, no driver licences, no free medical care.

The commies claim that rounding up “11 million” illegal aliens is impossible to do but claim that rounding up 47 million firearms would be a walk in the park. The extremist commie left does way too many drugs. I can’t believe they even have a shot at getting elected in this country. Without freebies and handouts, they never would.

The law now is that if you employ an H1B employee and you run out of work for them, you are responsible to send them home to India or wherever.

Not being enforced as virtually nobody does it.

Provide bus transportation to the border towns from larger cities in land

The biggest unspoken issue is the drug trafficking. A uug wall makes the repeated trips more difficult. As T pointed out many of the gangs are connected to drug cartels

(including the one that controlled the community that 0 organized. Jesse Robinson Jackson half brother who is also related to MO is doing life for his involvement with that gang. MO wore gang colors to inaugural events. Now do you understand why 0 kept the borders open)

He doesn’t need to round them up. He just cuts off their benefits and they will leave. No drivers license, no Welfare, nada.

Hey Slick. You asked TWO questions.
1. YES they should be deported. The only citizenship they ever had was in some lefty bureaucRAT’s and the border crashing messican parents’ minds.

2. Duh?!!!

Question is based on a stupid premise.

You don’t have to ‘round them up’.

Cut off their welfare, healthcare, employment, and education benefits. Give them 30 days to leave the country. Those caught after the 30 days are sent to jail for a minimum mandatory 1 year. Those with existing criminal records get a mandatory 5 years.

Fine those employing undocumented — $1,000 for each illegal for the first occurrence, $10,000 for each illegal for the second, $100,000 for each illegal for the third, and 5 years mandatory prison for all company administrators and owners, including the board members for fourth occurrence.

That is sort of how Mexico exported the to us.

Who says you have to round them up all at once.
Stop paying benefits and many will leave on their own.
Greyhound vouchers with an unalterable destination somewhere south of the border could help move things along.

Actually, all alien residents are supposed to be sent back that way. But, as you said, the law is ignored. The enforcement I brought, is that local authorities would take the fine if they caught them. About 6 grand per person would be about right.

build the wall and enforce the laws and there will be no incentive for them to stay.

Enforce, and I mean, REALLY enforce E-Verify.

Whether or not to use E-Verify is a matter left to the states. It's interesting to note that the two states with the largest illegal population, Texas and California, are two states that do NOT require E-Verify be used.

Here in Texas, we've been forced to endure illegal immigration for decades. Enough is enough!

Round’em up and deport them? Liberal republicans and socialist democrats keep parroting the same ol line over and over.

If an illegal is stopped by a lawman, ship’em out of the country. Otherwise, take away the incentives. Penalize heavily those who hire illegals.

Our so called leaders skirt the true impact of illegals in this country. We always here of the benefits to our economy having illegals working here.

Perhaps corporations receive some benefit, but the average working American gets sapped.

Auto insurance rates are higher because of accidents caused by illegals w/o insurance, homeowners insurance higher because of crimes committed against folks homes. Property taxes keep going up to support hospital districts that write off indigent care from illegals showing up to emergency rooms and skipping on the bill. Property taxes go up to support more infrastructure such as septic, water, emergency services, roadways, schools, law enforcement jail/prison systems, border security. Gubbamint documents and literature printed and or electronically disseminated in Spanish as well as English.

Drugs, illnesses, human trafficking all play into the mix.

Again...enough already. We work hard to provide a living and save for retirement. How much of my hard earned dollars will ever be enough?
