Poll disputes Donald Trump claim on black voter support (Quinnipiac: Trump at 3% with black vote

Republican presidential front-runner said Thursday that his plans to improve the economy for black Americans is why he is leading in the polls with black voters, though at least one recent poll disputes Trump's claim.

"I lead with almost every group. including with the African-American groups," Trump told reporters at an event in Greenville, South Carolina. "I have tremendous support."

Quinnipiac University released a national poll Thursday showing that while Trump is leading the Republican Party nationally, he is polling poorly with black Americans in the general election.

The poll found... When asked "If the election for President were being held today, and the candidates were Hillary Clinton the Democrat and Donald Trump the Republican, for whom would you vote?" 3% said they'd vote for Trump.

""African American "groups?"" You mean there is more than one of them? Groups?

Trump says the craziest things...

3% support for Trump if it is Hillary and Trump, 5% if it is Hillary, Jeb Bush and Trump, and 2% if it is Biden and Trump.

It's all lies! CNN is only to be trusted with their GOP and GOP-leaning polls on Trump and nothing else, even though they are liberal! /s.

And Trump has right now at best 5% support from blacks and 14% support from Hispanics (65% negative, 14% positive for Trump in a very recent poll from Gallup). But we all know that Gallup lies, too! /s.

In Trump We Trust! /s.

Perhaps Trump meant black support amongst the other GOP candidates....

Could be Trump meant he leads with the black Republicans. I’ve never seen that polling data. I wonder, are they behind Carson at all?

What exactly did he mean by “African American groups”?

Groups?

All this is Trump’s problem. So far he has solved a lot of problems and very well. I expect that he will exceed all expectations in the future.

He is the leader and boy is he leading. He has all my support!

I’m curious who the pollsters asked. If it’s the free stuff crowd, of course, they don’t like Trump...or any other Republican for that matter.

Polls are unreliable, maybe even fraudulent.

U wondered why he said that. I haven’t seen any polls. Maybe he meant among all the Republican candidates - he has the lead with the black vote. Maybe there are blacks who are afraid to show support because they will be accused of being Uncle Toms. Those 2 ladies on you tube sure do like him.

Perhaps CNN (Communistic News Network) should go back to reporting on shillary and Jebby and a few other loosers and leave the real people alone....

But that’s to easy, so let’s start to smear some dirt back on their ‘talking heads’ and see how they like it....

Trump will hopefully rise to the challenge and make a decent play for the black vote. I look forward to it, and to a decent play for the Hispanic vote. But, I don’t happen to believe black Americans and Hispanics are all Faracon marchers and Che lovers, and that technology matters. Trump can certainly handle that front, as he does it daily with his tweeting.

Closet support for Trump is leaking all over the place, (but getting no coverage) and it’s only August! The Stump for Trump girls are one example and CNN captured video in South Carolina, during Trump’s departure from the stadium, of the Hispanic woman telling him she would help him there.

Go and get them, Donald. They are out there.

It’s all future with Trump supporters... No past. Trump cannot fail no matter how liberal he is.

As Business Insider reports and WaPo has reported [WaPo link at BI article] “Donald Trump is making fools of his supporters” Trump has flip flopped on so many issues that they cannot seem to be counted.

In Trump You Trust.

Wait until it sinks in, in many Black neighborhoods, what will be the practical effect of Trump's policy on illegal immigrants, and that 3% will rise substantially.

Of course, no Conservative is likely to overcome the Welfare/Dependence edge that the Left has with urban dwelling Blacks; but if he can get up to over 16% of the Black vote, that could make it very difficult for the Democratic candidate.

3-5% black vote is all ANY Pub candidate will get, unless of course they shamelessly pander and promise lots of free stuff.

I don’t see you saying that when the liberal polling outfits have GOP and GOP leaning polls, they are posted at FR, and they look to be good polls for Trump.

It is liberal CNN baaaaad, but liberal CNN poll (and Reuters poll, WaPo poll, NBC News poll) goooood! with certain people (TMS types).

This is silly.

The primary process is very, very tough. If Trump makes it to the end he has my vote.

He will have shown and amazing toughness and cunning.

As far as being made a fool of I have a lot of experience with that. The Republicans have screwed me over for 10 years.

So there is no reason to expect any different.

I’ll take my chances with Trump.

But I bet you sure like the GOP and GOP leaning polls put out by CNN that have looked good for Trump.

CNN is bad when you and others want it to be and good when you want and others want it to be.

that is the Trumpian way!

Limbaugh talks about polls as if they are now trustworthy when for years he has bashed CNN and others for being libbbbberal.
