Jeb Bush responded Thursday morning to Republican presidential rival Donald Trump's criticism of him speaking Spanish on the campaign trail, saying in a television interview that he "laughed" when he learned about Trump's remarks.
"People come to this country to pursue their dreams," Bush said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "Sometimes they start without speaking English but they learn English and they add vitality to our country. And the fact that he would say that you only can speak English is kind of of ridiculous if you think about it. Are we going to close all the foreign language classes? Why would he have a contract with Univision for his beauty pageant?"
Bush added: "He wants to tear us down. He doesn't believe in tolerance."
The former Florida governor's comments marked the latest broadside in a quickly escalating war of words with the real estate mogul who has risen to the top of the GOP polls.
“I like Jeb,” Trump said in an interview with Breitbart News published Wednesday. “He’s a nice man. But he should really set the example by speaking English while in the United States.”
While Bush said he "laughed" at Trump's comment, he added that the remarks are "hurtful for a lot of people."
Bush's wife Columba was born in Mexico. They mostly speak Spanish at home. Bush responded to questions from Spanish-speaking reporters in Spanish earlier this week.

Why didn’t he do the Good Morning America interview in Spanish?
My wife is from Mexico too. We speak both Spanish and English at home and frequently both of us speak Spanish at our jobs because it's needed. In particular, we are fed up with illegal aliens raping this country in every way imaginable and you, Jeb Bush, are also aware of what is going on through advisers you have and are therefore complicit with what is going on for political or financial gain.
Some things had better change in this country, and if not, all hell is going to break loose. The admins here don't want certain things posted and I understand that. But all of you mark my words: EITHER, get the illegal immigration, murder of police officers, violence in general and corruption in government and Wall Street under control OR (by the will of God) someone you LEAST expect to do so WILL get it under control and all of your attempts at control of speech and action will mean absolutely nothing and the U.S. will fall under the hand of God and suffer immeasurably for failure to do what is right.
Go read the account of the plagues and read and memorize the verse where, finally, the priests of Pharaoh could no longer match the might and will of God. They responded to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." They actually had to ADMIT it. Hide and watch, wait and see.

MEMO TO JEB BUSH: Instead of getting that degree in Latin American affairs, you might have been wise to get a degree in AMERICAN HISTORY! Since you're obviously so fond of Latin America, perhaps there's an elective office waiting for you somewhere in Latin America? Oh wait, THEY have very rigid CITIZENSHIP and RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS down there.

Jeb needs to meet up with some of the MS13 and other narco gangs that are flourishing in the US now. Maybe they can show him the glory of the new culture he so wants to celebrate in the US.

They came here legally, and it sounds like they became Americans whether they became legal citizens or not. I am sure they did not expect this country to change for them, they wanted to be a part of this country.
If I decide to move to another country I would not expect them to do things my way, or speak my language. I would expect to learn their language and adapt to their traditions and customs.
We have so many immigrants now, both legal and illegal that want to bring their country with them, which is fine for their own family traditions but they should not expect the rest of us to adapt to their ways. They should also expect to learn English as soon as possible, not expect us to learn their language.
No, you’re not the only one. If you’re running for President, you need to communicate in a language that everyone understands. The majority of citizens in this country don’t understand Spanish. Not only is it disrespectful to them to answer questions in what to them is a foreign language - it conveys a sense of duplicity, like asking people to vote for a pig in a poke.
He is not speaking to me when he speaks Spanish, pretty obvious who he is planning to serve if elected.
So, Jeb laughed when he heard Trump’s remarks.
He said, “Hajajajajajaja.”
When I was a kid I had a number of neighbors who spoke Italian at home. Mainly because either their parents or grandparents had immigrated and never became fully fluent in English. But they did their best when speaking with the rest of us. And their kids absolutely mastered and used English.
The good thing about all this is Jebbie is killing his campaign. All the GOPe money ain’t gonna be able to save this train wreck.
