Here’s your daily Donald Trump interview, annotated (Trump called in to Don Lemon last nite)

Donald Trump did a phone interview -- natch -- on Tuesday night with one of his preferred TV hosts: CNN's Don Lemon. Amid the media maelstrom that Trump creates every day via his various interviews, tweets and Instagrams, it's easy to lose your sense of wonder at what he says and how he says it. I vow to never lose that wonder -- especially since Trump also happens to be the Republican presidential frontrunner at the moment. So, I am regularly annotating Trump's interview using Genius, my new favorite tool on the Internet. You can join in the fun -- annotate along with me!

*snip*

LEMON: Donald trump says he is the man to reform taxes in this country. But how he plans to do it may surprise you.

This is something that some people don't think is a conservative issue that you are -- that you have waited on. And I was surprise actually to hear you say it. I shouldn't be surprise to hear you say anything. But last Friday, when you were in Massachusetts you said several times that your plan is to increase taxes on the richest Americans and you specially targeted...

(CROSSTALK)

TRUMP: I didn't say that.

LEMON: ... hedge fund managers though. OK.

TRUMP: Yes. I say that it's different. There's a big difference. What you're saying is very different. Now, I want to create great incentives. I want to reduce taxes. But what I said to hedge fund guys. I know the hedge fund guys. They're all supporting Bush and Hillary Clinton. And some of the other candidates.

Trump won Breitbart’s August user survey by the widest margin of victory yet recorded. I expect soon the Trump-haters will be explaining that Breitbart is a hotbed of liberal Democrat crazies.

After reading this interview I see another leverage that Trump has over other candidates. Other candidates like Bush need to constantly raise funds and meet with their benefactors. Trump is free to use that time to campaign. It gives him great leverage.

Here is the gist of it:

Businessman Donald Trump won August’s Breitbart Primary, surging ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who won the first two Breitbart Primary straw polls.

It was the first time that Trump, who announced his presidential bid two weeks after the inaugural Breitbart Primary started in June, has won a Breitbart Primary straw poll, and his 12-point victory over Cruz in August was the largest margin of victory to date in Breitbart Primary voting.
Trump received 38.7% of the vote, followed by Cruz (26.6%), Dr. Ben Carson (10%), Carly Fiorina (5.63%), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)5%
(5%), Scott Walker (3.82%), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
(2.9%).

Cruz edged out Trump in last month’s Breitbart Primary, but Trump surged into the lead in the first week of August and, like in every other state and national poll, never looked back and widened his lead to 12 points over Cruz. Focusing his campaign on illegal immigration and trade deals that harm American workers and vowing not to be beholden to lobbyist and D.C. outsiders, Trump has lapped his competition in nearly every state and national poll that has been conducted in the last two months. Trump has galvanized the conservative base and is appealing to voters who usually sit out elections because they find establishment politicians from both political parties to be repulsive.’

Also, very interesting that Jeb got only 0.9% of the vote. That is embarrassing.

.9 percent is just enough to start a stampede; the American people don’t even know what .9 percent means.

I said 2 months ago.. "you can't stay on top of the Network TV ratings for 12 years without KNOWING how to market yourself."

His competition is surely finding that out.

You’re very welcome, RR. What struck me as amazing is that two or three people evidently voted for Lindsey Graham. Bet a little sleuthery would lead straight back to...

Graham’s office.

Haha.

Except that...does McCain even know how to vote in an online poll?

Not only that, he’s using zero of his own money for publicity. He doesn’t have to make commercials, he’s a constant fixture in all the media all the time.

Trump also happens to be the Republican presidential frontrunner at the moment

Funny that all of the "experts" like this guy still do not get it! Trump will win because he doesn't care what the author and the other geniuses think! If Trump is the front runner AT THE MOMENT, who exactly is the new front runner going to be at a later moment? Stick that in your pipe and analyse it D-bag!
