A 17-year-old Park View High School sophomore was fatally shot Friday morning as he walked to his bus stop, and fellow students spent the day on lockdown as authorities investigated.
Danny Centeno-Miranda, who fled violence and poverty in his native El Salvador in 2013 to live with relatives in Virginia, was about a mile from the Loudoun County school when he was shot. Loudoun sheriffs officials said they believe that the assailants knew Danny but did not offer details. They were searching for suspects into the evening.
Dannys uncle, Porfirio Baires, who welcomed the teenager into his Sterling townhouse, said the boys parents sent him north to the Texas border in 2013 at the age of 15. Danny was detained there, but Baires said that authorities contacted him and that Danny was flown to Northern Virginia to stay with him and his wife.

""So he fled El Salvador because of violence? Some people can find violence anywhere. Chances are good he was mixed up in gang life there and here. People get shot for a reason.""
MS13?
Good guess.
Possibly. They are El Salvadoran. Targeted hits are their thing.
The comPOST would never say.
When i drove a year some years back, I had a lot of illegal mexicans in my cab.
A number of them were fleeing gang hit orders on them, and because of other gang related reasons.
none of which was that they wanted to quit and start a new life down a straight and narrow path.
Sounds like an illegal alien. Herndon and Sterling are overrun with them.
Not sure if it’s MS-13. There are reportedly two Salvadoran gangs at the kid’s high school.
Ship them all to the VA and MD counties surrounding D.C..
18th Street gang is the competition.
From WTOP:
“WASHINGTON Detectives from the Loudoun County Sheriffs Office announced Saturday morning that they have one juvenile and two adults in custody in connection with the killing of a Sterling high school student Friday morning.
Sheriff Mike Chapman says the teen knew his attackers and that the shooting was not a random crime.”
Everyone here in northern Virginia knows exactly what’s going on with this.
