A New Orleans man and a Marrero man have been arrested in connection with a Sept. 1 shoot-out with Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies, authorities said.

Local and state investigators seized four pistols from the suspects, three of them reported stolen.

Malcom Hall, 21, of 3150 N. Robertson St., New Orleans, was booked with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and four counts of possession of a firearm in connection with drug activity. Terrane Carter, 20, of 1914 James Dr., Marrero, was booked with four counts of possession of a firearm in connection with drug activity, Normand said.

The sheriff identified Hall as the gunman who fired a laser-sighted 9mm Glock pistol at three members of the Sheriff's Office Street Crimes division as they patrolled a Marrero neighborhood near James and Jordan Drives a week ago. The gunman fired five shots.

Two of the deputies returned fire, shooting 14 rounds, Normand said. No one was injured, and the suspect managed to escape.

Officers with the state Department of Probation and Parole, some assigned to the Sheriff's Office Criminal Intelligence Center, began working their own sources and help develop information that identified Carter as a suspect, according to Normand and Probation and Parole District Supervisor Jon Reeves.

The names Malcolm and Terrane says what the media refuses to say. I would suggest the JPSO guys need more time at the range.

Did these two college bound, aspiring rappers not make the exodus to Houston years ago with the rest of the Katrina Crime Syndicate?

Considering only two of the three fired at him I would say the perp fired 5 shots and ran. Two deputies started shooting back but the third deputy held his fire because he knew the perp was long gone. A hit and run ambush.
