MEMPHIS In July of 2011, Memphis Officer Tim Warren, was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Officer Warren was survived by his wife and two children.
Recently Officer Warren's daughter Jewel received an invitation to attend a father-daughter dance at her school.
Jewel was only 4 years old when her father was killed.
The now eight-year-old girl was upset and saddened by the letter.
Warren's widow contacted Taylor Amen, a Memphis police Department Officer's wife, who arranged for several officers to escort Warren's daughter to her father-daughter dance.
"We know we cannot replace Tim, but we can be there for his family when we are needed. It was truly a honor," said Officer Amen.

Alexander Haydel (Source: Memphis Police Department)
(WMC-TV) - Memphis police filed first degree murder charges Tuesday against the man accused of shooting a Memphis police officer and another man Sunday at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Memphis.
Alexander Haydel, 22, is charged with killing Officer Timothy Warren, 39, along with Arthur Warren, 49.
It started on Beale Street, where police say Haydel and other family members were visiting from Cleveland, Mississippi. Haydel got into an argument with his wife and bit her lip, cutting the inside of her mouth.
Arthur Warren, the woman’s ex-husband, intervened.
Eventually, the whole family returned to the DoubleTree Hotel. Then, Haydel retrieved handguns from two of the three cars the family used to caravan to Memphis.
Haydel confronted Arthur Warren on the 9th floor of the hotel, pulled one of the guns from his waistband, and shot him.
When police showed up, officers were told there was a man down firing a gun on either the 8th or 9th floor of the hotel. Several officers went up the stairwell, getting off on the 8th floor.
Officer Timothy Warren continued up to the 9th floor, and ran into Haydel as he tried to escape down the stairs.
Investigators say Haydel shot and killed Warren, and then took the service weapon and two fully loaded magazines from Warren’s duty belt.
According to the affidavit of complaint, Haydel told investigators he then positioned two fire extinguishers near Warren’s body. Second, he went up the stairwell to “higher ground” to gain a tactical advantage on other officers who showed up to help Warren.
Haydel told investigators he planned to shoot the fire extinguishers when additional officers arrived, hoping the fire extinguishers would explode and, “...kill everyone in the blast radius.”
Haydel, who does not have a criminal record in his hometown of Cleveland, Mississippi, is locked up at 201 Poplar without bond.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
In January, 2014, more than two years later (!), and after initially listing four aggravating factors for seeking the death penalty, Shelby County Prosecutor Jennifer Nichols did a flip-flop and allowed Haydel to plead guilty to two charges of first-degree murder in order to avoid the death penalty. Haydel is serving two life sentences without parole [in theory] at the Tennessee Department of Correction.
A month later, Prosecutor Nichols was promoted to Deptuy District Attorney.
I expected something like that.
Fallen officer’s children deal with loss
Jul 05, 2011

(WMC-TV) - Fallen Memphis Police Officer Timothy Warren’s children returned home Tuesday for the first time since losing their dad.
“It’s real hectic,” said their grandfather, Asa Atkinson, of the toll Warren’s murder was having on the family.
Family members broke the news to the children a day later, on Independence Day.
Warren’s son, eight-year-old James, was extremely close to his father, and is not taking the death well.
“James broke down when he walked in the house and his dad wasn’t there,” Atkinson said.
His grandfather said James climbed onto Warren’s motorcycle and had a hard cry.
As for four-year-old Jewel, family members believe she may not yet understand that she will never see her father again.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet with Jewel,” Atkinson said.
Warren’s widow spent a great deal of the day filling out paperwork related to her husband’s death.
Meanwhile, Atkinson dreads how this profound loss will affect the children.
“It’s going to be hard, particularly when they’re older,” he said.
Thank you dear Marvin!
What a precious sight— that dear little girl, and those Godly precious and loving cops. Poignant. Thank you. Rita/
Amen....as I wipe away a tear and look at a picture of my 7 year old daughter...
Why is life so sad and unfair to children?
I wonder when lesbians will start b1tching about father daughter dances and not being allowed to be there.
Yeah, one of my first reactions was, “I’m surprised father/daughter dances are still allowed.”
Great story, God bless those men for what they did.
I have observed repeatedly in girls I have known
that a girl’s relationship with her father can affect her whole life.
That’s quite a question you asked.
I wouldn’t presume to try to answer it.
But more recently things have certainly gotten worse:
Schools as leftwing indoctrination centers
The left not wanting boys to act like males
The concentrated plan to drug all children—Ritalin, etc.
The heavy, insane indoctrination in homosexuality
The increasingly powerful news media indoctrination
The insanity in the muslim world
If one must have human interest news, let it be this, not the latest about Bruce Jenner’s transition or Kim Kardashian’s shopping spree.
Thanks for the ping; thread.
America’s finest, men.
