I’ve never understood Chicago at all...congested, expensive, and bad weather. What’s the attraction?
Great restaurants, museums, shows, and sporting events. “Outdoorsy” if the lake is your gig. Wonderful place to visit. You don’t want to live downtown for more than a couple of years, because it gets tiresome after a while (speaking from experience).
The pension plans are underfunded. Change the pension plans.
Has anyone ever asked why tax payers are of less concern to politicians than ‘public servants’.
Here’s a thought & I think many in the state of Illinois might agree...since Chicago is on the shore of Lake Michigan,why not cut it free & set it adrift? That way,they could have their own little “territory” & free the rest of the state from their problems.

100 years ago, it was the mid west king of banking and commerce. No excuse for anyone to live there now.
