The Actors on ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Exemplify Everything That’s Wrong With Liberalism
IJ Review ^ | 22 Sep 2015 | Kurt Schlichter

The most political show on television today involves shambling ghouls that feed on human flesh and the meat puppets who try to avoid being feasted upon. “Fear the Walking Dead,” the “Walking Dead” spin-off set at the beginning of the zombie outbreak, offers us a view of the liberal, sensitive type of people who put Obama into office and – probably inadvertently – demonstrates the utter moral and intellectual bankruptcy of everything they believe in.

Modern liberalism is an unfortunate byproduct of civilization. The fact that our lives are not largely devoted to hunting and gathering food and fighting off marauders who would rape, enslave, and/or kill us, allows a large segment of our society to forget that this is the natural state of man. You didn’t have liberals in the Dark Ages because a liberal would last about ten seconds, expiring with a spear through his guts after telling the local warlord that he disapproved “of this patriarchal, phallocentric, cisnormative power structure.”

Now, of course a substantial number of Americans pay tribute to humanity’s past by understanding human nature and often by preparing to confront the forces of chaos. These people are conservatives. We conservatives expect problems, and expect that we will have to solve them ourselves. We generally know how to hunt, to gather food, and we have guns and know how to use them. And we understand that society always – always – teeters on the edge of falling apart.

Ruben’s character and his wife appeared to have endured some events in their home country, he’s aware of what may happen and “happen quickly”.

Todd Howard saw the future. I cannot be convinced otherwise.

The characters in TWD are Libs who got mugged.

The characters in FTWD are Libs who have not yet realized they have been mugged.

It will be interesting to watch the Libs in FTWD evolve in the survival-of-the-fittest new world. The Hubby remarked in a previous episode, "You know how I feel about guns." I commented in the TWD/FTWD thread that he will have a different view by Season 2, as he tries to protect his family and survive.

"The immigrant father? He’s the only one with sense, understanding of the danger, willingness to protect his family, and he is trying to educate the others.

I liked it when Daniel was showing Chris how to use the gun, and Travis came in all upset over it. Daniel gave him a sardonic smile and said, "The gun doesn't care how you feel about it."

For me it's kind of interesting to look at these people and try to figure out who among them will be future survivor types. I think Chris might have a chance, because he WAS interested in that gun and protested when his father shut down the tutorial.

I hope Travis will get a grip, and I think Nick, once he gets past the drugs, will surprise us.

The popularity of the zombie-apocalypse eludes me.

It's not about zombies. It's about surviving in a world where all the comforts you have known are gone and in order to survive, you have to make hard choices; who to save, who not to save, and who you have to kill. It's also about understanding that every person you encounter are also trying to make the same hard choices.

That's what makes the show so compelling. The zombies are merely a tool to get us there. Zombies could be anyone. It's actually easier on the show where the zombies have become merely a nuisance. In a real zombie apocalypse, the zombies will be armed and move a lot faster.

I give Madison credit for cutting open that fence and venturing out on her own. She was getting up close with the ZA underneath a car, staring dead walkers right in the face, and she handled it.

I’ve made the argument that the biggest contributor to moral decay (modern liberalism) was the discovery of penicillin. The fact that syphilis, gonorrhea, etc. could be resolved with a simple pill meant that the consequences of promiscuous sex was vastly reduced.

The “new” AIDS scare in the ‘80’s, that you could die from catching something from sex, was a shock to a new generation - even though this had been the norm historically.

So in general I agree with the premise. Our technologically advanced world allows people to not only ignore historical realities of life but to actually argue for lifestyles that are completely opposite and claim there’s nothing wrong with it. While the consequences of poor moral behavior can be managed by our society it doesn’t mean the traditional moral principles aren’t valid or should not be encouraged - we may need to revert to such moral traditions if society were to fall apart (natural disaster, war, etc.) , so we must not forget. That said, the “new morality” that these people want to embrace is not consequence free (as they want to believe), the consequences just manifest in different ways - broken families, fatherless children, high crime, drug use, murder, etc.. They’re all downstream consequences of our sexual morality. So even with our technological and medical marvels we’re still bound to the realities of the human existence, liberals just want to live in denial. As they say, “if it feels good it can’t be that bad”. It’s just an excuse to embrace their human desires while making an excuse as to why it is now ok, arrogantly reveling in their perceived Godlike enlightenment.

...narcissism, probably the greatest failing of the human condition. It is no wonder they reject Christ, he exposes them. They’d rather shout down truth so they don’t have to hear it. It is the only way to uphold the perception of “being a good person” while living as they do.

"And, as far as Lost goes, if you’re ever locked up, bedridden or incapacitated and want a diversion that will in the end piss you off greatly, I recommend it highly. :0)"

LOL! Thanks for the recommendation! Is it anything like Revolution? Never was able to keep up with that one either...

FTWD is bleeeeech

TWD on the other hand is interesting...has nothing to do with zombies just like Star Trek really wasn’t about space. They are character studies

I loved the scene where the old Hispanic dude mumbles to himself about the curly hair guy being weak when he stopped the blonde from hammering Susan the zombie.

Susan then almost kills her husband when he returns home which is what the blonde was worried about.

Yep. It is about get tough or die a soft mushy lefty zombie treat.

Ok, but a little slow as they develop characters.

I prefer z nation over all the zombie shows. I hate they killed off one of my favorites.

Plus, he is a young Johnny Depp, and Hollywood loves that.

Yeah I think she may end up being our Carol or maybe even our Maggie Archetype for FTWD.

Someone needs to step up soon.

I harken back to when Tobias tried to sneak a knife into school. She didn't react in the standard "No Tolerance" way a typical leftcoast teacher would. So there is hope.

To me, there is simply no equal to “Lost.” Maybe in some wildly abbreviated stretch of the imagination where the timeline is cut “Reds” with Warren Beatty (IIRC?) might suffice.

If you want to see the real value of Wikipedia and its unbiased information, check out their description of "Reds" and then watch the movie if you can stomach it. The description doesn't even come close to the horrendous box office disaster it was. They don't even mention revenue at all in the assessment - only the "awards"

And today at Zerohedge.com
Oliver Stone is quoted “American exceptionalism has to be driven out of our curriculum. We are not under threat. WE are the threat.” With a 750 page book on the alternate History and a 10 part documentary series on how we ruined the world.

My Unsolicited $0.02? I posted this the other day, on another thread. I think that Freepers might be missing something.

Few takeaways from "Fear the Walking Dead" that I thought were good....

1. Don't trust the gov't. Ever. Especially when "They're here to help".

2. Salvadorian Dad said, "When it happens, it will happen very quickly". Truer words were never spoken.

3. Actors: "Guns are BAD!!!! "Audience: "HAHAHAHAHAhahahaha....."

4. Did I mention, don't trust the government?

Fear the Walking Dead is a pretty subversive, and conservative series. Makes me wonder if the actors realize what a conservative message that they're preaching.
