The popularity of the zombie-apocalypse eludes me.

I agree. When I heard the Main character announce “You know I feel about guns” when the older man was showing the guys son how to work a shotgun I turned it off. Hope they all get eaten.

“A conservative is a Liberal who’s been mugged.”

Don’t know who originated that quote, but there’s a certain truth to it.

The group on FTWD will either smarten up or be culled; it’ll be interesting to see which eventuality materializes.

I, for one, don’t think they’ll end up clinging to their Liberal delusions.

The characters on “Fear” are just fine. The fact that they are oblivious and unprepared is PART OF THE STORY. Who would want to watch a survival TV show about a bunch of preppers?

I think people have forgotten 2 main things about the shows.
1 - TWD started over a month into it, by the time we join the characters the world is over, a lot of the folks who can’t cope are dead, and the rest have at least figured out basic survival
2 - Truth be told at the beginning the TWD characters weren’t that good at the survival thing, they were still thinking the world was coming back somehow (trip to CDC), camping out in a totally unsecured location that wasn’t going to be any good when winter hit, and sending the pizza guy into suburban Atlanta for most of their supplies

Go back and rewatch that first season. Pay especially close attention to Carol then vs Carol now (or look at the most recent season when Carol pretended to be Carol then). If Carol hadn’t fallen in with the right group she was doomed. The characters in FTWD are Carol then, maybe they’ll get it together, maybe they won’t. Just like the original group, some made the transition, some didn’t. I actually think the dope fiend has a lot of potential, if he can get past the basic problem of being a dope fiend. Like all addicts he’s a hell of a scrounger with a good working knowledge of where people keep their good stuff. He can be Glenn.

Stupid analysis. It's a tv show. I like it. I think it shows how the whole thing started.

How is this different than how republicans living in a city would handle it? No one knows what's going on. Would conservatives automatically go out shooting people? Would they instinctively know there is an apocalyptic virus that causes people to die, come back and each humans?

Sheesh!

I haven't seen Fear the Walking Dead, but I don't consider the Walking Dead to be a zombie show. I would put it in the "Western" category.

Westerns are set in the time before society had police, cars, 911, telephones, etc., in order to isolate the characters in a situation where their morality is tested. They can't call for help in order to get out of their situation, they have to find a way to deal with it.

In the Walking Dead, America has reverted to a pre-colonial era, where the survivors are the various native tribes.

What I see in this thread
is a whole lot of posters
who don’t allow for the fact
that TWD and FTWD are set
in different stages of the zombie
apocalypse. How does it go? A
conservative is a former liberal
who has been mugged or something
like that.

Prog/Lib/Dummycrats sleep peacefully in their beds at night ONLY because ROUGH MEN STAND READY TO DO VIOLENCE IN THEIR BEHALF.
Well; this uncouth, rough, heavily armed, old man is getting tired.
I and many more like me are getting old now; it is time for the young ones out there (I know there are many) to take over and stand post.
I took my oath to “PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION” when I was 18 years old, I am still waiting for my relief.
