I used my Smart TV 2 years ago when I moved and had to wait a week for Direct TV to install my dish... I used Crackle, my daughter's Netflix account, etc. I have since changed my Wifi password, and never updated the TV. It's not "phoning home" to anyone.
Fox can know who many people are streaming stuff, but those numbers are not of much use because they can't correlate them with income brackets, age, gender, etc. That's why Nielsen is still the gold standard for purpose of selling advertising. Advertisers target specific demographics, and having all that demo information is a vital part of how they place ads.
Well, okay, but they are still more balanced than any other mainstream news outlet.
Do they still use the set top boxes? I know of a current nielsen household and that family just wears a beeper looking thing all day that collects embedded information from TV and Radio at home and everywhere they go...
Fox has gone RINO—Karl Rove is at the controls—If you want to get on kelly, just say something bad about Trump. Remember long ago—to get a good job on a paper, get your book published, get air time on TV—just say something bad about Sarah Palin! Now Trump is targeted to be “Palinitized” Turned into a Joke. Next they will have a Trump Look alike say “I can see Russia from Trump Tower. If the word has come down—Trump must be stopped, made into a clown, he must never be the nominee. The plan is in effect—Now the Stop-Trump Person is Carly F. She is the darling of Fox now that Dr. Carson has taken some heat for his anti-Moslim talk. Sad really.
Thank you for stating the truth about many Cruz supporters on this site. I support Cruz & I agree with you. They are arrogant, holier than thou, hypocritical & rude. Not all are that way, but several are.
As I stated, I support Cruz but also support Trump in his war against the establishment. If Trump is the nominee, I will support him.
I would invite you to look at your smart TV and see if it has a camera.
I would invite you to read up in Microsoft launching Kinex a couple years back and how the tech works and for what purposes.

My kids use their x-box and an app called KODI and watch whatever they want streamed from the internet... There are KODI apps that mimic on-demand and they can use that to watch anything that has previously aired. I told him I thought that was the same as stealing cable and he pulled up some fair use license for KODI up on the screen... Some of the apps are pay to use, he accesses his Netflix account through there and I saw a Hulu icon too..
Haven’t found them balanced or fair in a couple of years. Too much of their opinion and not enough news. I really like OAN and they differentiate their news from commentary. Maybe Fox is not as bad as MSNBC but the lesser of evils is still evil.
It doesn't, and it also doesn't know my current WiFi password since I still use DirectTV exclusively on it. I might dump DirectTV in the future, but so far I still like it just fine.
Thats good. One less way to get spied on. Unfortunately (for others) you are one of the lucky ones instead of the Camera owner type who should follow your lead... Who do get watched. By their own foolish choice.
I will vote for Trump in the primary, and the person with a R next to their name in the general, assuming the GOPe doesn’t pull any dirty tricks. If they do, screw it, I’d vote for Sanders or uncle joe.

Secondly, I have a perfect out. My local radio has news from 5-6p and again 6-7p. I have been a fan of this show for years .. and I love watching their programs.
But, that’s not the only reason. I saw the shift of FOX about a year ago. And, when my cable provider decided that I could afford $150 a month for their service; I told them to cancel the service. They settled - but I no longer have a DVR. Therefore, since I can’t watch two shows at one time, I don’t have to worry about FOX anymore.
I do miss the weekend morning guys (not the female); because they seemed to be on the level .. but I don’t miss any of the rest of them.

I can tell you that when my kid went through SERE, they used stuff they found on me here to ‘torture’ her with. No joke.

I’m sorry you are upset by my behavior. I do admit to jumping into the fray with the Trump supporters. I learned very early that there is little chance for civil dialog when you’re not only not a supporter of Trump but are put off by his behavior. Almost to a FReeper, I was identified as GOPe. And if they didn’t call me that, they dissed me in other ways. No one ever wanted to have an exchange with me as to why I consider him so odious. So I gave up and joined the food fight.
These past few months on FR have been almost like being on a liberal site trying to have an exchange of ideas. There’s no such thing. Liberals don’t exchange ideas with anyone who’s not of their political philosophy. After this experience, I have come to understand that the same is true here at my favorite website. “Conservatives” become extremely means-spirited and disrespectful when you speak against Trump. You seem to have a blind spot when it comes to the nastiness posted by those people. Is that behavior troubling? Is that nastiness necessary in the long run? Just curious.
I understand what you are saying, but Trump supporters see the same thing you see regarding Cruz supporters.
I would vote for either. I have held myself back, you can look at my posting history, from knocking either one.
Right now, they both exist because both still exist. One goes, the other goes and we get Jeb.
The election is still over a year away, why knock out friendly competetion?
Carson won’t win, but he is a player in this. As he still should be. Getting rid of the establishment is my goal.
Whatever it takes is good by me.
