30 million with no health insurance? Wasn’t that the number Obama used? I thought Obamacare was going to fix that.
I remember China mocking our short term horizon.
And who was it who said we’d sell the rope to those who will hang us?
I work at a Fortune 500 company whose stock is doing very well. I see the policies that generate millions for those towards the top...while there is unnecessary dysfunction lower down the ladder. Frustrating but I decided the only way to beat them is join them...I bought stock.
theres a rumor that Ernie of Bert and Ernie is retiring.
Bert and Bernie??
What a career opportunity for Sanders
Has anyone ever though that the cost of medical insurance is directly linked to the cost of the care itself? It doesn’t matter whether public or private insurance. Doctor fees are driven by the cost of malpractice insurance, because no one will address tort reform (can’t touch lawyer fees). Prescription costs are a major cost driver of health insurance, but no one is checking their costs and prices. Again lawyers are driving it. See a common theme? LAWYERS. And they are writing the laws to protect THEIR interests. We need to get rid of lawyers in congress.
FUBS!!
Well tell me something Col. Sanders(of course the only part of the chicken this one deals with is the sh*t), where are all of these Americans going to work when all their current jobs are eliminated? How are you going to keep the tax coffers filled when you keep reducing payrolls while increasing payouts and benefits to illegal invaders?
WHy don't you point out one communist utopia where anyone other than upper elite are better off?
It's his solution to the problem that's probably not good.
Let’s pit the unabashed stammering socialist against the republican nominee. Leave Hillaryous Rotten Chameleon out of this one.
Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!
What he is saying is anathema to us all. But to voters of the left persuasion, this sounds tough. Not gonna take it anymore. Trumplike.
The private insurance companies played footsie with Obama on ObamaCare.
I don’t feel sorry for them.
The only way to restore their capitalist impulse is to throw them into a capitalist environment where they have to compete.
That's what Obozo care was supposed to take care of....................
Single payer (government).
Huge government democrat base to distribute healthcare and keep democrats in power.
Never what is good for the country, it is about their power.
Weren't those the figures floating around prior to Obamacare? The reason we had to have Obamacare?
Seems to me the only thing Obamacare has done is shift the uninsured/underinsured group from the poor to the middle class.
With premiums skyrocketing 2-5x and deductibles in the $10k range the average family can't afford insurance.
Besides that, the Democratic party loyalists are going to have to vote in their own primaries, so won't be able to "vote for the worst" Republican. (ie: Jeb or a Plan B)
So, I say....I wish Bernie to do very well, with 40% of the vote or so.
There is an element to the idea that if we put insurance companies out of business we’d be better off. It would very painful.... but if we could get back to people just pay for health care like they do anything else (with their own money) we’d probably be better off. Pay for your own health care... and then at about age 55 the government helps through medicare. Health care would become much cheaper when the supply of corporate money paying for it is turned off.
So... in addition to all the other taxes I’m paying to support everyone on Planet Earth except my own people, I’m supposed to pay Joe Blow’s hospital bills, too?
Scr*w that.
yes, 30 million uninsured WAS the reason they said they needed obama care in the first place
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress. [emphases added] Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Inspection laws, quarantine laws, health laws of every description [emphasis added], as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c., are component parts of this mass. Justice Barbour, New York v. Miln., 1837.
4. The issuing of a policy of insurance is not a transaction of commerce [emphasis added] within the meaning of the latter of the two clauses, even though the parties be domiciled in different States, but is a simple contract of indemnity against loss. Paul v. Virginia, 1869. (The corrupt feds have no Commerce Clause (1.8.3) power to regulate insurance.)
Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously [emphases added] beyond the power of Congress. Linder v. United States, 1925.
The reason that the unconstitutionally big federal government is now regulating things that it has no constitutional authority to address is the following imo. The post-17th Amendment ratification Senate has not been doing its job to protect the states as the Founding States had intended for it to do. In other words, the Senate is not killing the unconstitutional bills that have established unconstitutional federal laws and likewise unconstitutional federal spending programs.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators and the unconstitutional laws and unconstitutional spending programs that they have helped to create along with it.
