Former two-time Republican presidential candidate and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry came out of his post-candidacy retirement to speak to 2015 Values Voter Summit on Friday.
"We don’t elect kings," Perry told the audience of social conservatives in Washington, D.C. "We overthrow them."
"We can’t sacrifice our principles for the cult of personality. The message has always been greater than the individual," he said in a veiled reference to current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
Perry said the country saw "righteous indignation" at Pearl Harbor and the Lincoln Memorial, but, "There is a difference between right indignation and unconstrained anger."
Speaking as someone who took 14 years to give up the TX Governorship. Go away, King La Raza Rick !

I think the indignation of the citizens at the government’s refusal to stop the illegal alien inundation is pretty righteous

I guess that what he said is true does not matter to the crowd here. Rather sad to see so many “hard core conservatives” going with flavor of the month.

I opposed him after the beginning of the TTC fiasco and all the crap with free medical care for illegals which forced the closing of medical centers in poorer counties.
And certainly after he began appearing before La Raza it became my goal to run him out of politics altogether, just as with anyone else who cozies up to racial supremacist organizations.
B, the GOP has not done anything to overthrow the king we have now.
And Perry took a cheap shot at Trump, when the real enemy is the Dems.
Trump is not a flavor of the month.
Carly, Rubio and Carson are.
For over 3 months Trump has changed the course of the 2016 campaign, and he supports all the things we have been supporting on FR for years, that the GOP only paid lip service to.
Cruz will make a wonderful VP to Trump.
If Trump drops out, then I will support Cruz for Prez.
Right now, Trump is the one I support as Prez. And I have given twice to Cruz.
But the handwriting is on the wall.
