Hey Rita,
I didn’t post the thread to bang on Donald, but only to suggest that Cruz’s performance aided him in Iowa. I have no clue why this thread is in “breaking news”— I didn’t put it there.
As you indicate, Trump is appealing more to the secular anti-establishment folks, of which there are many; Cruz the religious folks. I surmise that was the Trump/Cruz deal, energize the disenfranchised for their mutual benefit.
Objectively, as to Trump, though I know he prides himself on “off the cuff”- perhaps, in certain arenas, it might be better to have prepared remarks. Here, perhaps he could have had staffers flag a few passages from the Bible, to give him some structure. For instance, Cruz always says- “you shall know they by their fruits—” then he goes off on a political rant. Trump could have done the same.
But, he’s at 30%, this episode won’t harm him with those who are his base support. It did help Cruz energize his base.
It was in GOP club. Someone moved it while I was out grocery shopping with Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet (Barbara). Believe it or not, that happens to me at least once or twice a week, it seems, without me asking to have it switched.
Nah, Vet didn’t do it. I’m thinking it’s a slow board night, and someone saw the usual Cruz/Trump trolls getting into it, and decided to stir the pot... maybe.
Extrapolating out that Cruz is now going to sweep the South

Who said that?
Trump Trump Trump . Right down their GOPe throats . I LOVE IT!! “Conservatives” my rusty red A$$! REBELLION!! You better ,By God, not fund planned Parenthood or you bastard just handed us the entire party infrastructure and we will ,by God Take it— Thanks!!
This article is Bull $hit.
No, no, I knew you didn’t post to bang on Trump. I was just thinking about your question to Jane, on how the article got in breaking news. I was responding to that and also that we agree that it was crystal clear that was not a Trump audience, probably from the get-go. I was just pleased that he showed up and let it fly, anyway.
I believe he will do the same with the minorities, particularly Black Americans. Republicans always blow them off. He has parts of steel evidently, and oozes of leadership. Best to you, my friend. Rita
Check out #142.
“Trump didnt win the CPAC straw poll either.”
Now which idiot would want to win that RINO lickfest?
Sorry Vin, I have totally confused the issue.
I think we were all anxious to see the results of any kind from the Values forum. It truly is breaking news. This was the first I had seen of any form of results.
Hi, 2D! Thank you for the response! Mystery solved.
I thought I was on my thread about this, not VinL’s. I didn’t even look. I posted this hours ago.
That's it! Trump has peaked, for the 15th or twentieth week in a row!
"SeeBS concern trolls"
I think Trump is the only person that has any possible chance of making any real changes to fix the problem and change the way Washington works.

Respectfully, I disagree in part. Trump has raised some excellent issues. But, as you indicate, he is not overall conservative- and if he’s not, he won’t fundamentally change the GOP establishment. If one doesn’t demolish the establishment, then although Donald may build his Wall (which is good), ultimately the COC, GOP-e will just bide its time and then build a thousand doors in the Wall. That’s what this establishment Politburo does. They will wait him out, and un-do whatever he had accomplished that was to the establishment’s disadvantage.
Trump isn’t ideological, he’s not a political strategist. He’s a business man. He will attempt to get his vision of things past the GOP-e, he might even dominate the establishment for a season, but he won’t take it out.
Cruz will- he’s doctrinaire- and his mission is to be for the constitutional Right, what Obama was to the Left. Yesterday, Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine siad-——
“We’re going to get new leadership in the House of Representative,” he said. “It’s happening because there’s a newly elected senator that showed up and started articulating principles that were consistent with the Republican platform.”
Now, of course, choose who you will-— but, that’s the reason I support Cruz over Trump.
Which is pretty much the ONLY regard that really matters. The only hope for restoring the Constitutional Republic is in the Constitution.
Bull shit!
Good question. I could have sworn I saw a post saying this made it clear Cruz would be winning the nomination before the March 15th primaries.
Sure can’t find any evidence of it now.
I did find a reference to Trump getting the nomination by the 1st of March.
The article I thought I read was longer. I apologize for the mistake.
No worries.
Probably bothers me more than you.
I don’t like doing that.
I could have sworn I saw one guy trying to make hay out of this survey.
Thank you.
