This is correct, IF PROPERLY UNDERSTOOD, meaning that our human rights, knowable through the natural law, cannot be legally abrogated by religious precepts that conflict with the natural law.

THIS is something that SCOTUS CAN RULE ON. If they are forced to prioritize, it will be difficult for the Court, as massively dysfunctional as it is NOT to side with religious freedom.
