A teenager took his own life after he was falsely accused of rape, an inquest heard.

Jay Cheshire, 17, who was "mature and well-liked", was at the centre of a police investigation which ended in June this year when the alleged victim dropped the charge.

But he tried to commit suicide a few weeks later and after being taken to Southampton General Hospital, died on 5 July.

An inquest at Winchester Coroners Court, Hants, heard Jay struggled to cope with the false accusations and was "absolutely distraught."

She should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Most people assume anyone accused of a sex crime is guilty.

She should definitely be prosecuted - this bullcrap of false ra[e accusations must be treated as seriously as actual bona fide confirmed rape (not the BS kind where someone leered at you in a sexual manner and made you “feel uncomfortable”).

Who was it who posited that the mere seriousness of an accusation requires the accused to prove his innocence. I think that was directed toward George H.W. Bush but I don’t remember by whom.

I think it was 'Tip' O'Neil at the accusation that G H W Bush was bundled into an SR-71 to meet with Iranian reps in Paris to free the Teheran Hostages in 1980. This 'charge' surfaced for the 1988 election and was kept going into the 1992 election season. Like Harry Reid, Tip had no problems with outright lying when it was to his party''s advantage!

very sad....however withdrawing a complaint does not mean it did not happen....it often is just too much of a struggle to get justice in he said/she said incidents which is why most women never press charges or drop them...

Feminism killed the boy.

Far from having noble motives, the actual aim of Feminism was simply to make the work of women, 50% of the population, taxable instead of invisible.

Another bonus is that those hired to care for the kids while mom is at work also must pay tax.

In school from a very young age, the kids are exposed to much more state worship, The Government is Good, etc.

The boys require incarceration (growing government) and the girls are also much more likely to be impregnated with no husband and therefore require more state support.

FEMINISM IS ONLY ABOUT GROWING GOVERNMENT.

Mary Mapes, the producer of the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. “It’s not the nature of the evidence, it’s the seriousness of the charge.”
