At Politico, Rachael Blade and John Bresnahan report that Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) 82% may enter the race to replace Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) 37% as House Speaker. House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz is planning to run for House speaker, taking on Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) 45% in what appears to be a long-shot bid to lead House Republicans, according to multiple sources. The Utah Republican, first elected to Congress in 2008, is launching a campaign less than a week before the Oct. 8 leadership elections for the House GOP Conference. The date for a floor vote to pick the next speaker has not been set yet. McCarthy (R-Calif.) is the overwhelming favorite to win, and it’s unclear how many votes Chaffetz can garner. Chaffetz’s office would not comment.

and owes much to Clinton and Obola, like Boehner.

to eagerly attack Chaffetz ... as before.
It is so very true.
After the corrupt Secret Service passed Chaffetz’s FBI files to 45 agents trying to find some dirt on him, he ought to be thoroughly vetted. They probably have plenty juicy info on McCarthy, which they will use creatively should he become Speaker, shades of Boehner.

Chaffetz’s action towards Meadows doesn’t seem to have alienated conservatives:

Amen. Jordan must have “shut up”, or it’s more likely Chaffetz would not be running against him.
Chaffetz may get more high profiled names to back him, perhaps, than would Daniel Webster, who seems plenty conservative but not so well known as Chaffetz is, as a member of an important committee like Benghazi.
