LONDON: Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly sending 150,000 soldiers to Syria to wipe out the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
According to The Daily Star, he is apparently mounting an enormous military mission to take control of the terror group's stronghold of Raqqa.
Raqqa is the self-declared capital of ISIS which is patrolled by as many as 5,000 jihadi members.
Putin is set to mobilise 150,000 reservists whom he conscripted into the military earlier this week.

I doubt Russia has 150,000 armed troops either. If that number’s accurate, then a hell of a lot of them will be conscripts.
In a pinch the IS guys will just shave their beards and fade into the population. They’ll wait for another day.

As Trump says politicans only want to get into office and then go to sleep for 4 yrs. Bush2 and Clinton were examples of that and their incompetence is what gave us 9-11, and not defending the homeland.
Bush should have been impeached for failing to defend the country on 9-11 and our borders from invasion. Instead we put him on a pedestal after 9-11. Time to take care of our country before we no longer have a country. Let those in the ME sacrifice their own and fight ISIS, instead they prefer to watch Americans die on TV in their backyard.

Possibly, but how good do they need to be? Our NRA and/or urban gang members could probably take ISIS out with the right weapons and logistics.
Pitons gonna make sure Russia controls its Mediterranean bases and the pipeline routes the Saudi dictators want to Europe Then probably Putin will just take the oil too - from Syria to Iraq (already coordinating militarily with Russia) into the gulf. If Putin wants he can take it all inside a couple weeks. Or more likely he will just use local proxies and the kind of “influence” that obama’s given away. The oil has to get to market to have any value. The oil transport routes are very limited and coming under Russian- Chinese purview

It would take a while for Russia to move 150,000 troops with all of their equipment and supplies to Syria. We’ll see. This sounds like B.S. to me. I think he has his ground forces in place already. They are wearing Syrian uniforms.

Plus the people in the region procreate at a far faster pace than Russians ... or most anyone else for that matter.

Putin seems like a pretty smart guy. I doubt he doesn’t know that already and is there for other reasons using ‘wiping out ISIS’ as cover.

I fail to see the difference between extremists of one sect vs a different sect of Islam. Either way you’re going to have Islamic extremism in the MENA.
Well it’s good timing to mop up the terrorists in Syria after five years of war.
Realize this is PR for mother Russia and Putin. If they wipe out ISIS or at least drive them out many nations will look with favor at Russia with respect for doing a noble deed and the USA will be further scorned and disrespected for incompetency.Obama is a fool for the ages.
