Middle East would be more stable if Saddam, Gaddafi still in power: Trump

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said on Sunday the Middle East would be more stable if Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein were still in power in Libya and Iraq, saying it's "not even a contest".

Trump mentioned the countries in comparison to current efforts to drive Syrian President Bashar al-Assad out of power.

"You can make the case, if you look at Libya, look at what we did there, it's a mess," Trump said on NBC.

"If you look at Saddam Hussein with Iraq, look what we did there, it's a mess. It's going to be the same thing" in Syria, he said.

Asked by NBC's Chuck Todd if the Middle East would be more stable with Gaddafi and Saddam in power, Trump replied, "Of course it would be."

In a way, he is right. But what we did was right in principle but we walked away from a job unfinished. Thanks to Obama. And he owns it.

Facts:

1) Except in the very odd/exceptional election year of 1964, the Dems haven’t cracked 50% of the whites in a Presidential election since 1932.

2) Once the ‘64 election was over, the Dems understood that they would never win another Presidential election again unless the Republicans REALLY screwed up...or unless they changed the electorate in a dramatic way.

3) The Dems, courtesy of Bobby Kennedy who wrote the law, and Teddy Kennedy who pushed it in the Senate, passed the 1965 Immigration Act. That law dramatically reduced immigration from our then-traditional large sources of immigrants - England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, etc. - and replaced them with vast numbers of Turd Worlders...whom everyone knows vote around 80% for Dems, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, as new immigrants have traditionally done.

4) As a result of the ‘65 Act, and due to the Dem’s outright lying in ‘86 regarding an effective (or any) fence, there are now probably 30 - 40 million illegals in this nation. Note that the (probably low-ball) figure in 2005 was 11 million...we have 2-3 million come in every year, so simple math says that the number is actually somewhere between 31 and 41 million). If any substantial portion of these people ever become citizens, then the Dems will have accomplished a complete shift of the electorate, and will be virtually invincible on the national level. Every state will become like California, both politically and economically - which is to say, overwhelming Dem and broke. But at least if you don’t like California now, you can leave for a better place without much trouble - where are you going to go if EVERY state is like that?

5) Every Republican, and every Conservative voter MUST UNDERSTAND that if such a state of affairs comes to be, NO OTHER ISSUE WILL MATTER AT ALL, because we will ALWAYS AND FOREVER lose on those issues. Immigration is THE issue of this election, and this election is as critical as the 1860 election was - and for the same reason, because it will determine whether this nation continues on as it has existed in the past, or becomes a new and unrecognizable entity that simply occupies the same geographic territory.

Please wake up, and help others to do so by sending them this post (or recommending “Adios America” to them). It really is THAT important.

I agree with Khadafi. I disagree with Saddam. People have forgotten who it was before.

The mistake was arming ISIS, and removing the residual force from Iraq too soon. The mistake was trying to use Al Qaeda jihadists to go after our enemies without sufficient controls over their entirely predictable behavior.

Well, I believe that is true. Muslims need to be controlled one way or another.

Trump is right.

Taking out Saddam was a very bad mistake.

Obama/Clinton took advantage of that mistake and took out Kadaffi.

Thank God the Egyptians turned against the Muslim brotherhood/Obama/Clinton and came back around.

Obama/Clinton’s Arab Spring’s offspring are now invading Europe.

That’s it in a nutshell.

It amazes me how quickly folks forgot who Hussein was and what he was up to.

Iraq will go down as the biggest blunder in American history

2.5 Trillion and counting plus 4k Americans dead, for what? ISIS and Iran to control that region?

He is right. All those lives lost, all that money spent, and things would have been better for everyone - especially the people of the Middle East - if none of it had happened.

Probably true. We’ll never know
If you go by history, the regions where Islam is prevalent are more stable under dictatorships or autocratic/theocratic control.

I agree with you completely. I am sick of the MSM-led conflation of Bush’s and Obama’s Iraq policies, so that Obama’s debacle gets blamed on Bush.

ISIS is a Turk/Saudi/Obama project.

Iran didn’t control it until after the residual force was removed.

The biggest blunder in the Middle East was the one that started it all; Jimmy Carter abandoning the Shah of Iran.

Was Saddam a bad dude who exported terror? YES. But he was a counter balance to the world’s number one exporter of terror known as Iran.

“In a way, he is right. But what we did was right in principle but we walked away from a job unfinished. Thanks to Obama. And he owns it.”

So here we are, having pi$$ed away billions of our hard-earned bucks to say nothing of the thousands of dead or maimed young men and women in Boosh’s failed attempt at “nation building.” And tell me, did any of the 911 hijackers come from Iraq? Answer: NO, they were all Saudi’s whom Boosh let leave our country under cover. In truth, we would have been more moral going to war with Saudi Arabia and killing off “the Royal Family” there. The story goes that Boosh wanted to settle the score with Saddam for trying to kill his worthless father, and thought nothing of the losses there in pursuing that “ill-concieved goal.”
So pardon me if I don’t share your idea that somehow the Iraq War was of noble purpose.

Trump keeps surprising by telling the absolute truth.

Earlier this week he cited Operation Wetback to deport illegal aliens, then he invoked Charles Bronson’s vigilante to rebut calls for gun control in the wake of the Oregon shooting, now he dares to say how the savages in the Middle East needed to be controlled.
